This is an update for my current WIP, an urban fantasy involving hunters and fae, two of my favorite things. The location being Philly has been a blast to write since I’ve grown up around this place my entire life. Right now, I’m trucking through at about 10,000 words a week. My goal is 50,000, so I’m over halfway there. What does that mean for you lovely readers? More bang for your buck and the potential of a print version of this fun adventure. These characters have been a blast to write about, even though I’m doing third person and not even my favorite first person perspective!
As the night descended, streetlights flickered on, and neon signs lit up on the myriad of bars that littered the city. Amidst all the mingling scents, of grease, oil, and rotten leaves, a crispness swept through, that sharp ozone that tingled the nose. Brenna wrinkled her nose when she caught the large hole in her undershirt, and post-haste, she buttoned up her flannel, rolling the charred edges of her sleeves.
“They’re going to form quite the opinion on us—you showing up the other day covered in mysterious and rather foul fluids, and now I’m freshly charred.”
