Time to cast the spotlight down on some hard-working and awesome authors! After all, those novels and articles you like to read don’t just burst forth into existence–it requires a lot of effort and craftsmanship.
So today, join us in welcoming Sara Daniel!
My favorite quote is the legendary Nora Roberts quip: “I can fix a bad page. I can’t fix a blank page.” It reminds me that I just need to write. The words don’t have to be perfect the first time. I can always go back and fix them.
Everyone draws inspiration from different sources–where do you find yours?
I love happy endings and giving people hope for a bright, love-filled future. Every time I hear a story or read an article with a less than satisfying ending, I want to create a happy ending for that person/situation.
After spending so much time fleshing out these characters, do any stand out as ones you could write over and over again?
Willow from Captivating the CEO is probably my favorite character ever. She shares a medical condition with someone who is very close to me in real life, so her story is truly a book of my heart. But every character I write gets to be my favorite while I’m writing his/her story. Bringing them past their hang-ups and damaged past to the happily-ever-after they deserve is what I love to write about and I plan to continue doing so forever!
Every author needs a vacation. If you could escape to anywhere, where would you go?
My ideal vacation is relaxing near the water. Ocean, river, lake, or creek—I’m not picky! The constant flow of water calms me and restores my creative soul.
Are you working on any new projects? What one are you most excited for right now?
I’m really excited for the One Night with the Bridal Party series. Book 4 (out of 6), One Night with the Best Man, released on April 17th. The next two books, One Night with her Husband and One Night with his Wife, will release in mid-May and mid-June, respectively. This steamy set of one-night stand stories kicked off with One Night with the Bride two years ago, then One Night with the Bridesmaid and One Night with the Groom last year, so it’s been fun to revisit the characters from the earlier books and tie up the series.
Fantastic! I’ll have to keep an eye out. Do you have any shows you’re addicted to right now?
I’m not much of a TV person, but I’ve gotten hooked on Dancing with the Stars, which I watch with my daughter. I love the personal struggles and watching the contestants rise above their fears and limitations. I also find it fascinating to see how the show’s producers appeal to different demographics with the range of contestants. Just like in fiction, the character arc fascinates me, draws me in, and makes me care about the contestants and their partners.
What about in the book realm? Any recommendations?
I just finished reading 21 Marine Salute, a box set of 21 sexy Marine romances by Heather Long, which was wonderful and moved Marines to the top of my book boyfriend list! I also just finishing reading the middle grade fantasy series, Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, with my daughter, which I’d recommend to fans of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.
Now to my favorite question: What’s your astrological sign?
I’m a Leo. I’m not sure that all the qualities assigned to a Leo apply to me, but according to this site, creativity and idealism are among the Leo’s greatest strengths. I would say that those two attributes shape the romance writer in me!
Any huge pet peeves while you’re reading?
My biggest pet peeve is when the authors hasn’t created a reason or a connection for me to care about the character(s). If I care about what happens to the person and/or am rooting for her/him to succeed, I’m willing to overlook a weak plot or choppy writing. But if the author hasn’t convinced me I should care what happens to the characters, I have no reason to keep reading.

Will a one night stand give them the courage to face what they fear most or drive them apart forever?
Alejandro “Alex” Cortez vowed never to return to the family farm, but when his sister makes it the destination for her wedding, he has no choice. The farm’s new owner, sexy agricultural professor Dr. Susan Gundersen, is his only hope for a diversion from the haunting memories.
Susan knows better than to count on people sticking around for her. The farm gives her the roots and permanence she’s craved her entire life. As she helps Alex clear out his family’s mementos from the house, Susan is drawn to the raw and vulnerable man under his carefree exterior. A few kisses later, she falls hard and fast.
Despite their mutual attraction, Susan will never leave the farm and Alex will never consider staying. Will one passionate night with the best man give them the courage to face what they each fear most or drive them apart forever?
