Join us for Meet the Writer Wednesday, where we get to know more of the awesome writers out there!
Today let’s welcome TL Reeve!
“The scariest moment is always just before you start.” –Stephen King
Given that quote, what inspires you to get started on something? When does inspiration strike?
Sometimes it’s a song. Sometimes it could just be something I see in the news. I people watch too and since I’ve moved, I have found myself watching the people around my apartment. Never know when something juicy might happen. 😉
When you’re with characters for so long, it’s hard not to grow attached. Do you have any you feel like you could write forever?
Oh man. I have several characters I love. Right now I have about five I don’t think I could do without. Quade and Cameo from Craving Cameo and Jasper, Max and Kole from Omega’s Heart. Okay I lied also Thomas and Kata from The Bodyguard and The Dom. They all have their qualities. In some ways the characters have their moments of not being worthy, or are trying to rebuild their lives. Kata is a wounded warrior. She was in an IED blast overseas. Max is the same, losing his whole team in an ambush. Cameo is young trying to start her life, while her protector fights his feelings for a girl twelve years his junior. They’re all flawed in some way and they’re perfectly imperfect.
If you could escape on a vacation anywhere, where would you travel?
I’m not sure. I have so many places I want to go. But, I think I would start with Scotland then do a trip through Europe. Then I want to go to Wounded Knee. Both places are rich with history and I would love to experience both places.
Do you have any stories in the works for us to look forward to?
I have several. I’ve plotted out Fe and Cougar’s story and I have an idea brewing for Cricket. I’m also working on another installment of Teishutsu Up next is Doug and Kit. I think you’re going to enjoy them. I’m also working on a story for Wiccan Haus, and new multi-author series for Decadent. King of Her Heart another Beyond Fairytale story and I also am working on Ginger and Mark’s story – Black Hills Wolves.
When you’re not writing, are there any TV shows you’re checking out?
Ohh, again another favorite lol. I love Arrow. I love Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Persons of Interest, CSI: Cyber Unit, Flash, Sleepy Hollow…I can go on and on. lol
I’m with you 100% on the Flash : ) What about books?
I am reading Playing with Monsters. If you haven’t read the Bare Bones series, or the Bent Zealots by Layla Wolfe, you’re missing out. Her biker series is amazing and a fun, fast ride.
Now for my favorite question–what’s your zodiac sign?
I am a Leo. I fit my sign to a T. lol
Any big pet peeves when you’re reading?
I think my biggest pet peeve, is characters I can’t like, or I can’t find a commonality with. I have read some where the female character comes off very snarky and rude. To the point you’re asking yourself how can the hero like her, let alone fall in love with her. Also, weak characters or the cliché, too stupid to live, characters. Whether male or female. It’s a distraction and it takes away from a story. (God I hope I don’t do either of these. lol)

The daughter of the Sentinels pack and MC Alpha, Cameo Cruz moved across country to escape her pack—and the wolf she can never have. Making a new life, she embraced her freedom and went to school. One partying night with her best friend shatters her bubble of safety, and she’s forced to do the one thing she swore she never would…ask for help.
Quade Rainwater lives for his pack and the life the Sentinels Alpha gave him when he took him in. He’d do anything for them, even cut himself off from the she-wolf he’s loved for as long as he’s known her. When all hell breaks loose and someone puts a bounty on his girl, Quade will cross the country to protect her. Unfortunately for him, he’s the last person she wants to see.
All he has to do is keep her safe from the bounty hunters, the locals, and himself….
