Project Purse Dump: November 20, 2015

Hey, everybody! I’m Sugar de la Tarte. As a retro pin up girl and burlesque performer, I keep a few essentials in my bag at all times. I never know when someone might recognize me, so I like to look my best.

Here’s my favorite bag.

nov20tha

Doesn’t this just scream Sugar? Since I love my deep red lips, I wouldn’t be caught dead without a tube of Mac Red.

nov20thb

So what else do I keep in my sweet little cosmetic bag?

nov20thc.png

My compact, natch.

nov20thd

Who wants to walk around with a shiny nose? Not me, honey.

And of course I can’t leave home without my pasties. Believe me, carrying these around along with my pastie glue has saved my bacon more than once.

nov20thg

Since I got inked—isn’t she lovely—I need to have a tube of sunscreen on hand. I don’t want this beauty to fade.

nov20thh

Last but not least, I carry my phone, but I had to bling out my case. In my world, presentation is everything!

Writer Wednesday: Review for Dance of Love

Dance-of-Love200x300

Dance of Love New 4 Star Review

Dance of Love by Inge Saunders is a short, fun and flirty read. The author paints a convincing tale as she introduces her characters whose depth and emotions are so raw and relatable you feel it! Ashley’s passion for achieving her goals, to finding true happiness no matter what obstacles stand in her way I find sincere. And her determination, her grit and her passion to make her dreams become a reality compliments and enhances the plot. The hero is likable and sincere. He is true to his beliefs and stands by his decisions with a strong sense of thoughtfulness and determination one just has to respect.

At the end of the day I’d say Dance of Love is a remarkable story of life, love and chasing dreams, teaching us to never give up on things our heart sets out to achieve but rather to put our best foot forward until we win the battle of fulfillment in the end.

4 Stars.                                                                                                        http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B00XRQ2KZC/n=6/ref=aw_cr_i_6

Blurb:

All roads lead to Rome when Ashley Solomons embarks on fulfilling her dream to become a world-class dancer. But there’s one person who stands in her way. “It`s a no from me,” Antonio Machiavelli.

When Antonio’s auditions for a lead principal end in wintry Cape Town, the last thing he expects is to have more than a knee-jerk reaction to an audition. Ashley not only verbally challenges him, but also translates her fire and cheekiness into an edge of your seat performance.

Can Antonio keep his distance from Ashley? Can Ashley focus on fulfilling her dream of becoming a lead principal? Or will love have its way?

Excerpt:

Ashley grimaced.

He let the girl get to the chorus before dismissing her as well. The other panel members spoke kindly, and she didn’t leave in tears as the candidate before her had.

Before he could call next, she walked out on stage. She didn’t stand a chance in hell, so why give him the satisfaction of ordering her around? Finding her center, she met the eyes of the panel and blinked. Maybe she should have Googled Antonio Machiavelli, she mused standing transfixed. He was much younger than she expected and more attractive.

He appeared to be in his early thirties, with a mop of dark curls falling across his forehead. Even seated, he towered over the other judges. No wonder every girl’s unnerved. He`s intimidating with his tanned hands folded in front of him on the table.. His grim scowl reminded her to not cave.

“What’s your name?” the lone woman on the panel asked with a kind smile.

“Ashley,” she replied.

The woman glanced down at her clipboard. “It says here you have no formal training.”

Antonio Machiavelli gave a deep sigh. Her brow furrowed. “Yes.”

Nail-biting silence reigned for a moment then the woman waved her hand. “Proceed.”

Antonio Machiavelli placed his fingers at his temples. “Do we have to? She has no formal training. She’s wasting everyone’s time.”

Ashley’s jaw clenched. “How about you let me finish my audition? You’ll have enough ammunition to ridicule me with after.”

That got his attention. She couldn’t see the color of his eyes, but if she had to guess, she’d say fiery red. He sat forward in his chair, leaning over the table, dwarfing it.

He had the persona of an angry wolf out to devour her. The thought set her heart racing. What? She watched too much True Blood.

Music Mondays- Both Sides Now

Fill your Monday morning with excitement!

Today let’s welcome Megan Slayer who’s featuring her book, Both Sides Now

MS_BothSidesNow

If You Want Blood – AC/DC   – Michael is very much the showman musician and he puts his all into his performances. He also puts his all into his job at the school. He’ll go the extra distance and this song always reminds me of how much he works to keep the balance between his two lives.

You Can Dance – Bryan Ferry – This one’s a very sensual song. I see the dance of two lovers, Michael and Niall, sorting out their feelings, fumbling towards the goal of getting together and having a hot time while doing all of that. Plus it’s a very progressive song which matches Michael’s personality.

This Time It’s Different – Evans Blue – The name of this song fits the story the best. For Michael and Niall, this time around, it’s different. I love the tune of the song and the way the singer blasts through the lyrics. One of the lines is about being broken and that fits Niall. He’s convinced he’s not enough to keep his partner happy and it’s up to Michael to prove him otherwise.

Erase My Scars – Evans Blue – This song goes along with Niall’s personality and his need to be loved despite his past. He’s not broken, per se, but he’s been through the wringer in life. He needs someone to come along and help him erase those scars. Michael wants to be that person.

My Hero – Foo Fighters – Now you’d think this might mean Michael is Niall’s hero because he’s the leader of a metal band, but you’d be wrong. Niall is Michael’s hero because he’s comfortable in his own skin and Michael’s still working on getting to that point.

I’ve got to say it’s a weird play list. That’s me, though. That’s how my brain works. It might not make sense if you see the pieces, but all together it fits. There are more songs, but these the ones that stand out for me.

Come check me out! I love visitors!!!

When she’s not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Javier, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don’t seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always needs them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite–on command.

She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk and is published through Loose ID Publishing, Liquid Silver Books, MLR Press, Resplendence Publishing, Totally Bound Publishing, Ellora’s Cave, Changeling Press and Decadent Publishing.

Project Purse Dump: November 13, 2015

Hello. My name is Linda Joyce, and I’m a purse junkie. I have purses in different shapes and sizes. Purses made of different materials. If there’s a support group for purse junkies like me, one that provides inside tips about the best sales, then sign me up. But don’t think for a minute that I have any intention of kicking this habit.

Nov 13 - Purse Photo - Linda Joyce

I do want to clarify. While I am a purse junkie, I’m not a purse snob. I offer you a view of my Jam Bag as supporting evidence. It’s colorful. Has style. Notice the silver grommets and the black handles. And shows off my signature sign—Fleur de Lis. It’s ecofriendly, made from recycled bottles.

So what do I jam in my jam bag?

1) Japanese key chain with my key fob, reward cards, and red change purse carrying three, dollar coins inside.

2) Hairbrush – this is insurance. I carry it so I’ll never need it.

3) Turquoise wallet housing credit cards, stamps, miniature diploma from the University of Florida, and a few single dollar bills. It’s also big enough to hold my phone inside when I need to Grab-n-Go.

4) Leather case hiding an imported German fountain pen.

5) Pen—one of the first I got for SWAG

6) Lipstick – PÜR Moonlit Pearl

7) Business cards- name, address, rank, and no serial number.

8) Hand wipes from the casino in Biloxi. I came home $60 in the good and put it in the bank.

9) Kleenex

10) Mints – SWAG I carry around. Never know when I might meet a new reader.

11) Notebook—covert operations recorded to be used as secondary characters in a story.

12) Bookmarks for Her Heart’s Desire. On the flip side, the books in the Fleur de Lis series.

Hope you’ll connect with me.

Meet the Writer Wednesday: Lilac James

Writer Wednesday, that time of week to connect readers to the authors penning your favorite stories!

Today let’s welcome Lilac James!

Lilac JamesWhat’s your favorite quote about writing?

“What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure.” (Samuel Johnson) And Lord knows, I’m all about pleasure.

What inspires you to write?

Being able to spend time enjoying all the naughty ideas and luscious men I think up.

Out of all the characters you’ve written, do you have a favorite, or one you feel like you could write about forever? Why?

Hmmm. Well, Bex is a contender, which is only fair since she keeps popping up at different sex clubs. Now that she has her own TV program at KINK-TV, she visits the clubs to see what’s goin’on. And I’ve grown very fond of Sex Ed. But really, a new man is such a treat. How can I resist?

Where would your dream vacation be, and why?

A deserted tropical beach with no dinosaurs or crazed killers/stalkers/kidnappers/terrorists, but with a selection of really, really hot guys—Special Forces, maybe?—to play with. Why? Why not?

Ha, I love that response! What project are you most excited for right now?

The next book, working title The Devil’s a Dom. At the Devil’s Den, Satan and Hecate may be doing things Bex can’t put on TV! (Work in progress)

What’s your favorite TV show on air?

Hmmm. I’m more a doer than a watcher, but…well, True Blood, maybe.

What books are you currently reading? Any recommendations?

In the Zone by Sierra Cartwright; Fool’s Gold by Jennifer Skully. They’re booth pretty darned good writers. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. And if I can find ESPN’s 2015 Body Issue—whooeee!

What’s your astrological sign?

Aries, a fire sign of course. Aries people are adventurous and outgoing. Of course. And dedicated to pursuing the thrill of the moment. Of course!

Us Aries do tend to dive into adventure. What’s your biggest pet peeve when reading a book? A certain type of character? A style of writing? Noticeable plotholes?

Pet peeve? Books about people who are so squeaky-clean, prim, and proper that they don’t have sex. Everyone who’s anyone knows that’s one of the best things in the world. But I also dislike books that have sex without any kind of relationship—one night stand, long-term marriage, I don’t care. I just want the people to have some bond as well as bondage.

Where can readers find you and your books?

I hang out at http://www.LilacJamesAuthor.WordPress.com, and can be reached at lilacjamesauthor@gmail.com.

My books are available at Loose-Id.com, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Google Play, etc.

Lilac James has always been a day dreamer, and the scenarios usually feature really hot men.  She is unusually lucky in having untold numbers of gorgeous men to populate her days, and the world’s most wonderful husband when she’s not at the keyboard thinking up new stories.  No, she doesn’t write while wearing a Vicky’s Secret nightgown and sipping a glass of wine.  She enjoys herself anyway.

LJ_BondageVirgins_coversm

She’s tired of being a good girl. He’s the man who can help.

Bessie stepped out of the shower and stood in front of her bathroom mirror, rehearsing her approach to Milady’s Pleasure. “I’ve never seen a naked man before.”
No, that wouldn’t do.
“Show me a penis.” Ugh. She sounded—not even dominatrix-like. More desperate, and she’d do anything to keep her desperation from showing.
“Tonight I want…” Yes. Simple, direct, clear.
Tonight, she’d start.

Snatched Book Birthday!

One year ago, Snatched was released with Jupiter Gardens Press!

That’s right, this book, right HERE.

And because I’m a silly individual, I’m going to scrap the fancy recap of Snatched and put it through the Kat-speak filter.

Shifters are one creepy as hell bad guy–I mean, who wants to face off monsters who can teleport and rip people’s limbs off? They’re the ones responsible for shoving mankind underground where they can feast on rat meat and tubers. (Bright future, right?) So, in comes Kara, girl with a gun and a protective streak a mile wide. And those bastards take her sister.

Well, a girl like that isn’t going to take ‘no one ever returns’ as an answer. She’s going to find a way to get her lil sis back even if everyone tells her she doesn’t have a shot in hell.

Did I mention this book one a blogging award for having a Kickass Heroine?
