If you haven’t checked out the songs for Play Nice, the first book in the series, check them out here!

These are some songs that really embody Smith as a character. Music is really powerful for me. It inspires me, it makes me remember, it sparks a lot of my stories. So here is part of my play list while writing Smith’s story in Play Dirty.
First up is Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty. If you’ve read Play Dirty then you know why. I love this song for Smith and Dylan. Smith is this bad boy with a dark as hell past and he’s bound to hurt her. He knows that she is everything good and light. But he just can’t stay away.

Next up is If I Didn’t Know Better by the Civil Wars. It’s got such a sweet slow hypnotic sound. And it’s sexy as all get out. I absolutely love this song. This version is actually my favorite and it’s a cover done on Nashville. I can’t for get enough of these two singing together.

Chris Stapleton singing Tennessee Whiskey. Does it get any better than that?! It’s soulful and it’s sweet. And you know all my Devil’s Share boys love their whiskey.
Hurricane by the Band of Heathens. Number one, it’s about New Orleans which is where Smith is from. Number two, another haunting song. It’s dark, but it’s so good.
And last, Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Just a great rock love song. This is the acoustic version, because it’s my fav.
I’m currently working on Jacks’s book, which I’m almost positive we’ll call Play Fair. I am so excited to get the next book in the Devil’s Share series out to you guys. I love to hear from readers, so feel free to contact me. PILLS. PAIN. LOSS. LOVE.
Smith James doesn’t need drugs. He just likes them a whole lot. And as bassist for the Devil’s Share, they are easy to come by. So are the women. With a steady supply of both he doesn’t have to think too hard about his past. But when a beautiful physician’s assistant joins the tour, Smith can’t help but want…more.

After watching her high school boyfriend OD, there is no way Dylan Lawson is going to fall for a rock star with a tenuous hold on sobriety, no matter how sexy his New Orleans drawl. She’s been hired to do one job: monitor the health of the lead singer’s girlfriend and her unborn baby. But once Smith flashes that sweet, vulnerable smile, Dylan can’t help but want…more.

And more is what they’ll get. Love on tour is never simple, and with a music festival in Smith’s hometown, a place he’s avoided for years, near his illiterate, abusive, meth-addled father, Smith is one bad night away from a relapse. But with her heart already lost, Dylan is willing to do whatever is necessary to save him—even play a little dirty.

I split my time writing and working my day job as a massage therapist. If it’s a creative pursuit though, chances are I’ve dabbled in it. Hell, I’ve played around with soapmaking, beer brewing, cupcake baking, tea blending and everything else under the midday sun. At the end of the day, my constant is always reading, writing and editing. I’m an Aries-Taurus cusp–which to any astrology buffs should tell you plenty. I hit the East Coast convention circuit pretty hard and chances are, you can find me vending for Solstice Brews while simultaneously promoting my books.
