Our kiss turned molten and our tongues twined together as I tasted sweet nectar. The heady thrill of it rolled through me like a slick and slow tidal wave and I swayed on my feet.

As we separated he whispered against my mouth, “Don’t worry. I’m a patient man.”

Shaking my head, I walked past him fast to keep him from seeing the stupid smile on my face. “And I’m hell on wheels, babe. Got an errand to run, but I’ll see you around.”

What story I’m working on: Night Awakens, and I started a new one…only a couple pages in, but I’m super pumped about it.

What I’m editing/marketing: What now? Scrying for Summer is SENT for submission! Which leaves my full attention on getting Airship shipshape!

Line of the week:

(For a special treat, this is the opening line of my new story)

The stench of sweat, sex, and stripper glitter were never going to come out of Liz Fisher’s jeans. That was the last time they were going to do a gig at Peekaboo, especially after the five thousandth time her Keds gummed to the floor backstage.

Music Monday- What You Want

Musical Mondays for all!

Today let’s welcome Landra Graf with her book What You Want to discuss her musical inspiration for the book!

29636487

Say You Do by Dierks Bentley – This song makes me think of early on in the story, when both hero and heroine have met, but she’s trying to convince him to agree to a little dessert.

Come a Little Closer Baby by Dierks Bentley – This is an end of the book song. One that has all the Happily Ever After and sexy I could dream of. Also, this guy’s voice… if you can’t tell I love it.

Come Over by Kenny Chesney – I easily got into the mood for writing Kanoa and Laney’s scenes leading up to the big smexy moments listening to this song.

Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum – This song means a ton for my heroine, Laney. I can’t say specifically why, but kisses are a big deal.

Like a Wrecking Ball by Eric Church – One of the naughtiest country songs I’ve heard in a while. It fits my characters and came in handy for the more sensual moments in this book.

What’s your next project on the horizon? What You Want is the second in the Desperately Seeking Submissive series. The third one, What You Desire, is coming in April and features one of the characters from this story. What You Crave, the first book in the series, is available now.

Where can your readers find you? I’m always wandering Facebook via Landra Graf. My website is another way to check out my books and what I’m up to. If you want the latest news I highly suggest signing up for my newsletter, which I share with the awesome Catherine Peace.

What You Want

When her sister gets sick on the night of her 1Night Stand date, Laney Malcolm is asked to fill in and pretend to be her twin. Treating it as a lark, she looks forward to an adventurous event with a free dinner and not much else. She isn’t prepared for the fierce attraction nor the urge to help the Hawaiian, tattooed submissive she’s introduced to.

Kanoa Mahelona has spent the last year trying to find himself, but he’s tired of random hook-ups and women who only want him for his bad-boy image. Madame Eve helped his boss, so he turns to her for assistance. Attractive and damn good at breaking through his barriers, the blonde Domme challenges him in a way he can’t seem to turn down.

Only she’s not who she appears to be, and, once the truth comes out, it may be too late to go back.

What story I’m working on: Night Awakens–paranormal romance for everyone!

What I’m editing/marketing: Editing Scrying for Summer primarily since I’m reaching the end zone on that one. Will switch full focus back to A Tale of Two Airships.

Line of the week:

He lifted his brows. “And you want me to bring it to the human precinct at that. You owe me, Naz.” Of course, the bastard paused to wink my way, the suggestion obvious.      He got a sour look in return.

“You’re lucky if I’ll buy you a beer,” I murmured darkly.

Music Monday-Fractured Fantasies Volume 2

Music Mondays are BACK!

Today we’ve got the lovely Torie James here with her latest release, Fractured Fantasies Volume 2!

fracturedfantasies2

I’d sat down with intentions to write only ONE volume for what became this series but my Dark Muse thought otherwise.

I’m entirely comfy writing paranormal romance, along with sub-genres like fantasy, sci-fi, etc. Erotica, however, was a field I never dreamt of taking but all it took was one person to double dog dare me and here we are.

I’m a huge fan of older shows such as The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Outer Limits, Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt. I wanted to write dark erotica with those shows in mind, those tales of erasing the lines between good and bad, blurring the limits of decadence and darkness and as always, learning valuable lessons only when its too late.

I’d like to think I’ve conquered that challenge with these lush, dangerous and sexy offerings.

Shakespeare said it best.

If music be the food of love, play on.

I’d like to offer an addendum, however.

If music be the food of love, play on. But if lust drives the bus, next stop is Kinkville!

Clearly, you can see why I don’t write profound poetry.

Making a playlist for these stories proved nearly as challenging as writing the stories themselves but when I did find songs that inspired me to go Dark Side, whole new worlds opened up and allowed me to paint a surreal, sexy backdrop. Here are a few of my faces.

Sweet Dreams (Marilyn Manson version) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUvVdTlA23w

Now, I’m an 80s girl, tried and true. As such, the original version done by the Eurythmics is an all time favorite, hands down. But Manson’s version is slow, creepy and hypnotic, adding the right amount of shadiness. The way some chords are shredded, along with screeching synth, always makes me shiver.

Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me – U2 –

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDl1c0nR5SI&list=RDIDl1c0nR5SI

Bono and the boys knocked it out of the ball park with this one. Slow, throbbing  mystery and low, throaty lyrics that reach out and wrap around the psyche. Kind of like a stranglehold of seduction.

Make Me Wanna Die – The Pretty Reckless –

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txBfhpm1jI0

Taylor Momsen surprised me with her vocal chops. I mean, wow. She was the little girl who played Cindy Lou Who in the Jim Carrey version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. She went on to play a stellar role on Gossip Girl before fronting a bad ass band. This song is full of dark and delicious caution.

Take Me To Church – Hozier –

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYSVMgRr6pw

This one is fairly new in my repertoire but I’ve quickly fallen in love with it. Thumping bass, whispery strings and the lead singer’s amazing lyrics and voice bring it all together. It’s a song of depth and deception, heaven and hell. Sinner and saint. *swoon*

Little Talks – Of Monsters and Men –

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I

I stumbled on this gem a couple of months ago by total accident. It’s so trippy!! I kid you not! I can’t praise it enough, simply for the fact that is it completely unidentifiable, if that makes sense. I’ve forced my sister and mother to listen to it then tell me what they thought the song was about. They had different answers and mine was also different from theirs. Part ghost story, part insanity, it leaves me a bit sad every time I hear it but that’s also part of its allure.

Fractured Fantasies Collection (Volume Two)

In the burning lands of rapturous fulfillment and unrequited desire, one false step can lead down the path towards delicious destruction. Impassioned appeals, sinful seductions and fevered longings can often hide degrees of twisted tenderness but don’t be fooled. Not all prisons have bars, silence can be deadly and even the sweetest face conceals monstrous insanity. Tread lightly, choose well or find sexual satisfaction at the dead end of one-way street.

Book One – The Factory

A glittering citadel born from blood money and power tripping provides the perfect stage for its mysterious owner and his young, dazzling wife. Before the final act is called and the curtain falls, they’ll both be tested to the limits of their personal, moral compasses. And neither of theirs point true north.

Book Two – Nevermore

Newlyweds on a romantic, Spanish honeymoon find themselves battling against stereotypes after a short engagement leads to a much longer commitment. In the shadows of infatuation, however, lay the groundwork for a cruel coupling that even death cannot part.

Book Three – The Nomad

In a post-apocalyptic, dystopian future, one young warrior woman travels the world in search of help against The Great Evil. When her travels take her far underground to the lair of the last great Champion, she finds duty mixing with desire and a tender temptation that threatens her mission.

Author Bio:

Born on the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous, Torie is the illegitimate love child of Han Solo and Daenerys Targaryen. Rescued by Gandalf shortly before her home planet was destroyed in the last days of the Clone Wars, she was raised in relative obscurity by her foster parents, Severus Snape and Pippi Longstocking. At the tender age of 113, she inherited the best little whorehouse in Texas and is rumored to be bringing Sexy Back. A self- confessed chocoholic, she’s been engaged to Willy Wonka despite gossip surrounding a lifelong affair with Bruce Wayne.

And clearly, she practices delusion on a daily basis.

The truth is, I’m just an overgrown kid with a vivid imagination who loves to write and share my crazy with the world. My future plans include, hopefully, buying a lovely Scottish castle and convincing Queen Elizabeth I that I’d make a fab addition to the Royal Family.

Three years ago, I finally got my ‘brave’ on and submitted a wee story about true love, honor, friendship and the magic within us all. That story was Timeless Night, the first book in a five book series I’ve named New Camelot. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to have published Timeless Desire (Book 2 of New Camelot), Beauty and The Feast (A New Camelot Thanksgiving Novella) Ties That Bind (The Cloie Chronicles I), Fractured Fantasies (Valentine’s Venom), Fractured Fantasies (Volume 1) and coming soon, Fractured Fantasies (Volume Two).

I live in Southern California, a stone’s throw from Disneyland, with my family and the most ridiculously spoiled pets anyone could imagine. I wake everyday with the determination to make this life as random, quirky and beautiful as it can be.

What story I’m working on: Night Awakens, and I’m finally reaching the crescendo! The big bad fight scene, and where the threads of the mystery all tie together!

What I’m editing/marketing: Editing away at Scrying for Summer and A Tale of Two Airships. They’ll both be done before I know it!

Line of the week:

“Yeah it is.” This was familiar territory for me, the heartbreak and defeats. “Every day you get up out of bed, feet on the floor and you push yourself up. You bear the past, and you’ll carry that hurt with you for the rest of your life. But with every dawn, and every day you keep moving, eventually you start to live again. Call it survival instinct or what you like, but we’ve all got our scars to bear.”

Cover Reveal for the Snatched Re-Release!

This is the beautiful new cover for the Snatched re-release, set to come out May 1st of this year! Bask in the talent of Victoria Miller!

snatched_600x900

When Kara was ten, the shifters took her parents.

A year ago, they took her best friend Hunter.

And now, the night before her first military strike against those monsters on the surface, the shifters take the only person she has left: her little sister Lizzy.

The snatched don’t come back. That’s what Kara’s believed her entire life, but the first person she finds above ground is the best friend she thought lost forever. Turns out, the higher ups lied. Other colonies are out there, hell even folks who toughed it up above. If anyone knows how to get her sister back, these people would. However, unless she can rally these surfacers into an army, one girl with a shotgun won’t survive long against the very creatures that overturned her world.

“The cherries on the ends of our cigarettes burned a bright orange against the surrounding shadows, like the stirring of embers, waiting for the phoenix to rise.”
