Weekly Word Count #162

Word Count: 10,217

What story I’m currently working on:

Back to pounding out the words! I’ve hit 26k with Forged Contracts and I’m hoping to hit 30k before the end of the month, so next week I should be reporting in from the halfway part. This story has been so intense. Raven and Jer have all of the feelings and issues, and they’ve been an absolute roller coaster to write. It’s usually a good sign when I tear up while writing sections. And I even edged a bit ahead on Hypnotizing Beat, pushing to 13k!

What I’m editing/marketing:

If you haven’t added The Airship Also Rises on Goodreads yet, you should do that thing, as it’s coming soon!!! I’m so, so excited to share the final installment of the series that started my career as an author, and I have all of the intense feelings about it. I’ve also continued trudging along with Musketeer Pirates (I make it sound so exciting!) And if you’re in the mood for some paranormal loving, Legends of the Veil comes out August 1st–next week!

Teaser of the week:

He didn_t know what he searched for out there in all the blue. Maybe the faintest glimmer of hope, like the sun gliding off the rippling surface of the lake.(3)

Line of the week:

His wolf didn’t help at all with the way it preened in his chest, a rightness he’d never felt before settling over him like sunlight. The bastard wasn’t discouraging this bad idea, even though over the past forty eight hours he’d thought of approximately six hundred and thirty reasons why Raven deserved someone better than him. Why they could never be mates, even if the potential scorched like silver.

He let his hand drop, shattering the moment. All he wanted was to kiss her right now, but with the mating bond looming, they might as well have a glass barrier between them.

Author:

I split my time writing and working my day job as a massage therapist. If it’s a creative pursuit though, chances are I’ve dabbled in it. Hell, I’ve played around with soapmaking, beer brewing, cupcake baking, tea blending and everything else under the midday sun. At the end of the day, my constant is always reading, writing and editing. I’m an Aries-Taurus cusp–which to any astrology buffs should tell you plenty. I hit the East Coast convention circuit pretty hard and chances are, you can find me vending for Solstice Brews while simultaneously promoting my books.
