Weekly Word Count #146

Word Count: 5,216

What story I’m currently working on:

Thus far, I’ve been really good at staying true to my promises! The fae novella IS finished and out with beta readers! It ended at around 21k, so I just blasted through the rest of it. Of course though, that leaves this big open hole of WHAT DO I WRITE NEXT? However, I think Cupid’s Cafe answered that question, as I started putting the first couple lines down on Lex and Tessa’s story.

What I’m editing/marketing: TOO MUCH. So, this week, my editor actually got the Airship edits back to me AND I turned them back around. OMG. So of course, I’m continuing to stampede through the Wanderers edits as well AND MIGHT EVEN HAVE THEM FINISHED BY NEXT WEEK. Ahhhhh. But that’s not all, folks. My young adult fairytale, A Reflection of Ice came out on Tuesday, huzzah huzzah. And then literally a day later, Corsets and Cogs hit the e-shelves!!!! Now is definitely the time to buy, as it’s only going to stay 99 cents for a week! And of course, the other steampunk boxset I’m in, Gaslights and Graves, is available for pre-order!

The best ways to get involved with my work is by joining my ARC List, my Facebook Group, or sign up for my Patreon!

Teaser of the week:

Candace brandished a pint glass at the ready. Ale could soothe most of these ruffians, and she_d become adept at taming tempers.(1)

Line of the week:

Some days, Tessa managed to keep the flames to a minimum, but others, that inferno raged out of control. Today classified as grade A dumpster fire with an extra splash of gasoline.

An Airship Named Desire–THE RE-RELEASE!

Enjoy, guys.

I put my love, hard work, and passion into fine tuning this beauty after I got her back from Hazardous Press. Why? Because if I’m going to make this into a series, she needed to be nice and shiny.

Get yourself a copy HERE for free–today only! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Airships, sky-pirates, smugglers, and soldiers…An Airship Named Desire will take you for a thrilling ride.

Ever since their last botched smuggling job, First Mate Bea and the crew of her airship can barely afford fuel, let alone a barrel of grog. So when a gentleman from Old Germany offers them a fortune to steal a locked box from a British merchant airship, they jump on the opportunity. However, their employer forgot to mention the box’s military escort and the Morlock mercenaries who would slit throats to get their hands on it. Oh, and if made public, the contents could engulf Europe in another devastating war.

Stealing the box was the easy part. Now, with a target on their back and some of the toughest characters in the skies after them, if the crew of the Desire doesn’t polish their pistols and prepare for a hell of a fight, they’ll end up worse than grounded. After all, everyone from the Brits to the Morlocks will kill for the contents of that box, and no one survives an airship crash.

A New Chapter

August 17th, 2012 is a day that will firmly stick out in my mind, the day when An Airship Named Desire was released with Hazardous Press. However, as the press is slowing down and I am moving full steam ahead, I recently requested the rights back. Why? Because I’m going to write the sequel, and perhaps even more. It wasn’t until Stolen Petals came out this year that I realized how much I missed that universe and how badly I wanted to return.

So obviously, I’ll have to re-release An Airship Named Desire, but there’ll be good incentive to pick it up when it comes out. After all, the talented editor of Stolen Petals will be going through the work with her scalpel, and I’m in the process of lining up the talents of a phenomenal cover artist. Although I get this little twinge in my heart at the thought of An Airship Named Desire no longer being available on Amazon, it’s temporary, as I’ll hopefully re-release before the year’s end.

And 2016 will hold a whole new adventure for the cast of the Desire–I’m already 10,000 words in and the characters are all returning to me like I never left them.

I learned a lot from Bea, and I’m pulling a maneuver from her book–going with my gut and pulling the bold and daring move. After all, that’s what Aries do best. For now, I’ll leave you with a snippet from the new book:

“Well, let’s get going to the Rusty Scupper. We’ve got a client to meet with and potentially confront.” I grinned at the man Isabella had pinned. “You, as the luckiest of lads, get to be leverage.”
