What story I’m currently working on:

I’m a whopping 1k into Forged Redemption, but the book is probably going to pick up steam next week. Ally and Drew are going to be absolutely ridiculous, and I think they ended up being the perfect couple for the finale of this series, one that’s a little reflective of the first book, Forged Alliances (at least on the bickering front).

What I’m editing/marketing:

I mean, essentially waiting on everything at the moment. Taking Root and Hypnotizing Beat are both on submission, so I’m putting pedal to the metal on my shifter series to get that finished this year! Kicked off this new year with the release of Forged Decisions and then in a couple of months, Forged Contracts will be available! I’m down to the final two passes on Forged Futures, so I’m hoping to get that done before the end of the month so I can return to writing full force. Don’t miss out on both the sale of Forged Alliances at 99 cents though, and the steampunk antho, Bustles and Bells which is coming down in ten days!

Line of the week:

Drew didn’t need to tilt his aviators up for her to feel the intensity of that gaze flashing his way. “Williams is what folks called the old man.” He tipped his glasses down on his nose, passing her a scorching look. “I prefer babe, darling, light of my life. Sir, if you’re feeling kinky.”

“You’ll be called dipshit next if you keep at it,” Ally shot back.

An Airship Named Desire: 99 cents Sale!

Thanks for being awesome.

Grab a copy of the first Take to the Skies book for only 99 cents!

Airships, sky-pirates, smugglers, and soldiers…An Airship Named Desire will take you for a thrilling ride.

Ever since their last botched smuggling job, First Mate Bea and the crew of her airship can barely afford fuel, let alone a barrel of grog. So when a gentleman from Old Germany offers them a fortune to steal a locked box from a British merchant airship, they jump on the opportunity. However, their employer forgot to mention the box’s military escort and the Morlock mercenaries who would slit throats to get their hands on it. Oh, and if made public, the contents could engulf Europe in another devastating war.

Stealing the box was the easy part. Now, with a target on their back and some of the toughest characters in the skies after them, if the crew of the Desire doesn’t polish their pistols and prepare for a hell of a fight, they’ll end up worse than grounded. After all, everyone from the Brits to the Morlocks will kill for the contents of that box, and no one survives an airship crash.

What story I’m currently working on:

Well guys, I’m closing in on this book. Hypnotizing Beat will not conquer me, especially when I use NaNo fuel to finish it! I am so excited! I’m in the final 5k of this book, since I just hit 66k. I didn’t think I’d ever reach iiiit. But wait, that’s not all! I also moved forward on Forged Futures, because that book’s been percolating in my head for awhile. I’m up to 11k, and I can’t wait to really dive full force in for the brunt of November!

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, I’m for the most part done with edits on The Lies We Weave, though I’ll be doing some fine tuning. And this week, Bustles and Bells released, so if you get the chance over the holiday season, get your copy of this amazing steampunk anthology! Forged Alliances follows in a couple of weeks, which kicks off my Tribal series all over again! And coming soon after that will be Forged Decisions, available to pre-order on November 20th, and then release day on January 1st!

“Come on now, and miss out on the pleasant sound of my voice?” she continued, goading him on. “You wouldn’t deprive yourself of that now would you? If you like, I’ve got a half dozen limericks memorized. I could begin to recite them.” The redcap let out a grunt and stalked towards the desk. Her heart pounded faster in her chest, but she continued. “There once was an old man in a tree, who was horribly bored by a bee.”

Weekly Word Count #173

Word Count: 9508

What story I’m currently working on:

Slow but steady on Hypnotizing Beat! I hit 45k on it, and I’m continuing to make my strides forward. With any luck, I’ll finish it by the end of the month or at least by the end of November. However, since things are a bit slow for me lately and it’s still a slog with Hypnotizing Beat, I’m allowing myself to work on Forged Futures once I get my necessary word count done for the Discord’s Desire book. Because I really want to write Lana and Lucas’s story!

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’m currently diving into the final rounds of edits for The Lies We Weave AND even polishing up the query! Right now, I’m less in editing mode and more in buy-buy, sell-sell mode because Bustles and Bells, the steampunk Christmas anthology I’m a part of, is up for pre-order now, as is Forged Alliances which is set to release November 13th!

Even with the nerves running up and down his arms and legs like flame, Trevor allowed himself to grin and laugh with his bandmates. It was hard not to with the ridiculous way Ren piped, headbanging up and down to his own music. Or how Kieran fondled that mic like he owed it a favor. Even Jett dove into the fray, sneaking his own brand of misheard lyrics into their song, pickle instead of fickle, or heartbroken as Hoboken.

Weekly Word Count #166

Word Count: 12,000

What story I’m currently working on:

Oh man, guys! I forgot to update last Thursday! Since I don’t remember what my word count was that day, I’m just going to update with the totals–Forged Contracts is FINISHED at 67k! My god, it was an intense book. I’m not sure at all which book I’m going to tackle next, Hypnotizing Beat or the next Tribal Spirits book! (Only two more in that series left!) It’s currently out with beta readers! If you’ve got a preference for what I write next, feel free to comment.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’m still moving forward with Musketeer Pirates, which I still need to come up with a name for–I’ve been thinking on that for some time now. I’m moving at a much brisker pace since I just finished writing a book. Also, The Airship Also Rises came out, which means the Take to the Skies series has ended. I’ve taken a chance to clean up all my loose ends, so I’ll be able to plunge forward full force!

Teaser of the week:

Some days, the sheer amount of enemies we attracted made me question if maybe our crew was a little too trigger happy. That maybe we_d started pissing in too many pots without thinking

Line of the week:

This time, Christian charged for her.

The distance closed between them in a blink. One moment he was pacing before her, the next he bared his fangs leapt.

Raven tried to veer out of the way, but he moved too fast. His paws caught her side first, the claws scraping against her skin. He landed on top, his full weight slamming into her. They tumbled around across the wooden floorboards, splintered wood scraping against her back.

This floor. That sensation.

Her entire body locked up as her mind screamed and screamed and screamed.

Music Monday- The Airship Also Rises

Getting my Music Monday on with the release of The Airship Also Rises!

1. Up- Ships Have Sailed

This song has a bouncy sort of optimism that I loved, something hopeful that reminded me so much of this crew.

2. Rapunzel- Emilie Autumn

I wanted this song for the more subdued, emotional moments in the book. While most of the story is that wild, uproarious adventure, this is also highly charged. After all, it’s the final book, the resolution of a story that was introduced back in An Airship Named Desire.

3. Chasing Twisters- Delta Rae

This one’s another classic that I’ve listened to on repeat for all three Take to the Skies books, because there’s this wild, Western feel to the music, and Bea’s constantly chasing twisters.

4. Beneath the Black Flag- Miracle of Sound

This was a new addition to my Take to the Skies soundtrack that had a fun swashbuckling feel that helped with a lot of their scenes.

5. My Silver Lining- First Aid Kit

This will always be the theme of the Take to the Skies series. Every time I hear this song, I’m transported to the Desire with Bea and that lively crew, of heavy nostalgia and the lemon zest freshness of new adventure.

What’s your next project on the horizon: A Christmas short involving Bea and the crew will be coming out in Bustles and Bells!

Dive into THE AIRSHIP ALSO RISES now!

The crew of the Desire returns for one final, thrilling adventure.

Ever since Bea and the crew stole that box from the British Merchant ship, they’ve been drowning under enemies. The Brits, the Morlocks, and the man who started it all—their ex-employer.

However, Bea finally tracks him down and prepares for one final fight against the man who made their life hell. Secrets will unravel and loyalties will be tested in the smoking conclusion of the Take to the Skies series.
