What story I’m currently working on:

Still haven’t been able to write, sob, sob, sob. But yeah, next on the agenda is Forged Redemption, which I’ll be starting in January.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Editing has been the name of the game through most of December. I got my edits for Hunting for Spring finalized and turned around, and now I’m launching into the final rounds for Hypnotizing Beat, so I’m hoping to turn that in to publishers before the end of the year! But that’s not all on the agenda! Forged Decisions is available for pre-order and will release January 1st, which I’m super excited about! And to bolster that, Forged Alliances is on sale for 99 cents! Also, if you’re not ready to let the holidays go, make sure to check out Bustles and Bells while it’s still available!

Teaser of the week:

“The way he spoke to me, the admiration in his gaze, reminded me so, so much of myself staring at Morris, eyes reaching for the stars.”

Line of the week:

However, then the hunters had emerged from their anonymity, humans born with the ability to see through glamour, and families trained on every way to disarm and kill fae. A whole bunch of Buffy the Fae Slayers. When the hunters began to leave a trail of corpses, their former rules ceased relevance.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m so looking forward to when I get to write again, lol. Unfortunately I think I have a couple more weeks of solid editing and marketing to do before that happens. Ideally, once January hits I’ll have at least a little more space to make it happen. When I do, the final book in the Tribal Spirits series, Forged Redemption, is first thing on the docket.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Forged Futures is currently out with beta readers, which is rad. I’ll be addressing it the moment I finish with Hypnotizing Beat. And as for that, I’m neck deep in the final rounds of editing, the super time consuming stuff before I send it out to my publisher. On top of that, my week got interrupted with more Hunting for Spring edits, including a semi-final galley for me to review. And then on the editing front, I kick off the new year with a release. Forged Decisions is available for pre-order and will release January 1st! After that, Of Tinkers and Technomancers will be on the agenda, same as Forged Contracts. I also gotta shout out about Bustles and Bells since it’s only available for the holidays!

Line of the week:

Trevor cocked an eyebrow. “You don’t think after we escaped a pack of bloodthirsty redcaps you’re going to be heading off to the hotel by your lonesome?”

Danica bit her lip. His concern burrowed inside her cold, black heart, as if it hadn’t desiccated years ago. “Like your RV’s not crowded enough already? Who knows what travesties that couch of yours has seen.”

“Who said you’d be sleeping on the couch?” he responded, the heat in his voice flushing through her from the inside out. He needed to stop being so attractive. It had become a serious problem.

What story I’m currently working on:

Well guys, I’m closing in on this book. Hypnotizing Beat will not conquer me, especially when I use NaNo fuel to finish it! I am so excited! I’m in the final 5k of this book, since I just hit 66k. I didn’t think I’d ever reach iiiit. But wait, that’s not all! I also moved forward on Forged Futures, because that book’s been percolating in my head for awhile. I’m up to 11k, and I can’t wait to really dive full force in for the brunt of November!

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, I’m for the most part done with edits on The Lies We Weave, though I’ll be doing some fine tuning. And this week, Bustles and Bells released, so if you get the chance over the holiday season, get your copy of this amazing steampunk anthology! Forged Alliances follows in a couple of weeks, which kicks off my Tribal series all over again! And coming soon after that will be Forged Decisions, available to pre-order on November 20th, and then release day on January 1st!

“They shot one of ours.” The lines deepened around his grey eyes. “I_d waste the whole army for spilling a drop of my crew_s blood.”

Line of the week:

“Come on now, and miss out on the pleasant sound of my voice?” she continued, goading him on. “You wouldn’t deprive yourself of that now would you? If you like, I’ve got a half dozen limericks memorized. I could begin to recite them.” The redcap let out a grunt and stalked towards the desk. Her heart pounded faster in her chest, but she continued. “There once was an old man in a tree, who was horribly bored by a bee.”

Word Count: 1232

What story I’m currently working on:

Slowly getting back into the swing of things, but for good reason. Even still, I got some wordage in on Hypnotizing Beat, and I’m thinking I may try to ride this book out to its conclusion rather than sidestepping back to shifter land. As much as I love my shifters, the rockstar fae boys need some love too. Besides, the more I get back into the swing of things with Discord’s Desire, the more I remember the characters and feel of the book.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I leapt way far ahead with The Lies We Weave, finishing my rewrite, as well as the added scenes I needed to write in. I thought it would take forever, but it just took a couple super intense days of work. And I’m not going to lie, I felt iffy about this book before, but now I’m smitten. The dialogue leaps off the page, the characters are interesting, and the story resonates. Here’s to hoping. And as for new releases, you can look forward to Bustles and Bells later in the year, and Forged Alliances will actually go up for pre-order at the end of November!

Teaser of the week:

_Each step forward offered a better view of the crystal walls ahead, the castle appearing like something out of a fairytale._

Line of the week:

The moment she stepped into Kink and Candy, the AC slapped her in the face and she liked it. At once, the sweat started drying like paste across her skin, a fierce reminder to future Danica that a shower was essential tonight. Melrose stalked through the maze of stacked chairs and tables across the floor, heading towards the stage. The woman moved with preternatural grace, but it was anyone’s guess as to why a water nymph would take up residence in the desert. Regardless, Melrose ran a tight ship, and Danica trusted her in the business capacity—which is where she placed everyone.

All except one person.

Lenora hopped off the stage she’d been perched upon and raced over to her, a hurricane in heels.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m continuing to rock forward with Forged Contracts, and while I hit 37k as of now, I’m hoping to hit 40k by the end of the week. The goal is to finish the book by the end of August and I’m so very excited. I’ve already started contemplating more on the final two books, so I’m fairly certain they’re going to high on the agenda after. Though, in the interim, I should probably lay down some chapters into Hypnotizing Beat to keep pushing forward. I have the feeling that once I get really going into that series I’ll be firing on all cylinders there too.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, first off, Legends of the Veil is LIVE! And The Airship Also Rises is up for pre-order! I’m so excited for it to come out! As far as edits go, I’ve put a massive dent into An Airship Carol, which will be heading to the editor’s by the end of the month. Once I finish that, I’ll push forward on Musketeer Pirates, because I need to continue to put work into that as well. (It’s so hard when I’m wrapped up in writing a new book, because it’s like candy and I love it)

Line of the week:

Raven swallowed. Her heart squeezed so tight she couldn’t breathe. The truth lay brazen in the air, waiting to be grasped and devoured, and even still, she hesitated. The patterns she’d developed over the years were comfortable, the pain as much a part of her as the scars on her skin. Now she stood on the precipice where she might be able to push past that longing that sliced shards in her chest, and she felt crazy for questioning it.

“What are you, part shaman?” Raven joked, even as the truth settled across her skin, that Jer had shared the same longing, the same pain all these years.

Lana’s lips twisted in a knowing smirk. “Worse. Massage therapist.”

Gaslights and Graves Spotlight: Katherine McIntyre

“Because it took a stubborn technomancer willing to risk everything for those she cared about to remind me I was capable of a little daring too.”

My inclusion in the Gaslights and Graves boxset is Of Tinkers and Technomancers! This awesome collection of 8 different authors releases on May 8th, so I figured I’d share a little bit of what my steampunk romance is about!

When technomancer Theo Whitfield’s sister goes missing, she’s forced to work alongside an arrogant prat she’s long despised, the tinker, Silas Kylock. Her sister nicked his clockwork doll, and she needs his help to track the stolen merchandise and by proxy, her sister. However, the more time they spend together, the more she sees Silas as the man she’d run through the streets of Islington with and not the insufferable gentleman he’s become.

Theo’s not the only one afflicted. Silas never forgot the loyal, stubborn woman whose temper he can’t help but spark, and as their search grows more dire, her dedication to her family inspires him to make sacrifices of his own. So when the hunt erupts into a deadly confrontation with the gangs of Islington, Theo and Silas aren’t just risking their hearts–their lives are on the line.
