Weekly Word Count #119

Word Count: 10,191

What story I’m currently working on: I keep my promises! Forged Decisions is complete!! I started really pounding out the wordage on that one, and it’s already out with beta readers now! So after that crazy haul, I slowed down for a little and spent time getting back into the Musketeer Pirate story, and I finally hit 10k! Baby steps on that one–it’s going to have so much complex plotting that it’s difficult to pin down directions.

What I’m editing/marketing: Forged Alliances is releasing next Tuesday! Continuing the awesome news front, I just signed a contract for Of Tinkers and Technomancers with After Glows Publishing! I’m finished the rewrite of A Reflection of Ice and have it out with beta readers, so once I get critiques back, I’ll be doing the final two edits on this and then submit it by the end of the month! Also on the editing front, my content edits for Captured Memories are complete! Onto lines!

Teaser of the week:

Liv was willing to go to war beside him, to descend into the trenches and fight with him against those demons, and hell on earth if that didn_t mean everything.

Line of the week:

“And the largest crew of Dims to sail the seas,” Lorne called from his seat, brandishing his pistol. Fiona’s groan slipped from her throat unbidden. The moment the slur left Lorne’s lips, silence smeared through this tavern like fresh paint. Fiona resisted the urge to strangle her friend as every eye in the bar turned to them. With the Summit for human rights on the horizon in this magic-hating kingdom, only the boldest or stupidest adepts would call attention to themselves.

Lorne had always been both.

2017 Mid-Year Review

Well hell, is it already the halfway point?

Thus far, 2017 has seen the release of Rising for Autumn back in February, and in July, book 4, Waking for Winter will come out with Loose Id. What does that mean? It means my final Philadelphia Coven Chronicles book will release!

This time last year, I was prepping the second Take to the Skies book, and I’m happy to say I just started writing the third and final, so you can probably look to the horizon for that release next year.

On the writing front, I’ve kept busy. I have a YA space opera project I’ve been jamming away at, as well as a shifter series in the works. I just sent the first novel in the series to publishers, so fingers crossed–you may get Forged Alliances and the start of a fun new series before the end of 2017!

I also entered into the foray of contemporary romance with a novella that I’m preparing to submit–Captured Memories. This was a super intense story for me, and I’m hoping you all love Zane and Liv’s story as much as I do.

So what do you have to look forward to the rest of 2017? More releases from me, of course, and I hope more announcements of future books for you to read. If you’re an audiobook fan, An Airship Named Desire will be available in audiobook later in the year, an the voice actress is hella talented.

I’ve been jamming this year full of projects that I can’t wait to share with you, ones that include the strong, capable females I write, plenty of snark, complicated men, and stories that represent real problems. For those who have stuck with me so far and continue to do so, thank you a thousand times over–I write these stories for you ❤

Philadelphia Coven Chronicles Progress!

Hunting for Spring kicked off this awesome series!

bookpromo46

Conor and Brenna introduced the whole magical world inside of Philly teeming with nasties. And by the end of the story, their lives got tethered to the Coven, which is the recurring organization throughout the series, hence the name!

Now Liam and Jev get to tell their story in Scrying for Summer, and they continue the tales of the Order of the Serpent causing problems throughout Philly. And introducing more new, awesome characters!

Currently I’m working on a necromancer and Order of the Serpent filled story with Alanna and Sam at the helm. Book three is underway, Rising for Autumn!! Hurray!

Stay tuned either here or on Facebook for updates!

Weekly Word Count #40

Word Count: 6,117

What story I’m working on: Back to Night Awakens, my lovelies! It was a little tricksy to get back in the groove mid-story, but I have some different, better perspective I’m working with right now.

What I’m editing/marketing: A Tale of Two Airships–getting hard into the content edits of this one now. Slow going, like content edits always are for me, but I’m plugging away. I will say, it’s making me more and more excited to release it later this year. And I just started shipping Scrying for Summer off to the beta-readers. Not going to lie, the feedback I’m getting so far has me hella excited.

Line of the week:

“Wouldn’t dare,” he said with a smirk. “Cute attempt at a cover up earlier too.” He strode out of my kitchen and made his way to the door. “We both know you don’t give a goddamn about following orders for your team. You didn’t want her to kill me because you liiike me.”

Infuriating. Presumptuous. Pompous. Ass.

What’s on the Horizon?

Well, let me tell you, I haven’t been slacking. I’m working hard right now on lots of new stories for folks to enjoy! While Stolen Petals hit a snag with Breathless Press closing, I’m submitting it out, so hopefully the story will hit e-shelves before the end of the year!

As far as other guaranteed stories on the way, Decadent Publishing will be releasing Soul Solution as part of their Beyond Fairytales collection. Thus far, the release date is TBA, but as soon as I find out, so will you!

However, apart from that I’m working on some fun stories. I just finished and started submitting a coming-of-age sci-fi romance short story, and I’ll be plunging into edits on my urban fantasy story revolving around hunters and fae, set in Philly.

And right at the moment I’m writing a winter fairy tale, which is turning out way creepier than anticipated.

“Lyra climbed under the blankets and slumber encroached, only the sharp prickle of surrounding ice tickling her nose, and the saccharine taste on her tongue lingering before the darkness claimed her.”

Stay tuned!
