What story I’m currently working on:

Ha. Ha, ha, ha. I’m back, baby. After doing so freaking much editing the first month of the year, I thought I’d never get my writing stride back. My goal had been 50k, but I blew past that and hit 60k. The end of this manuscript is in sight, at about probably another 15k. If I have another week like this one, I’ll be able to finish the book by the end of the month, which was more than I could’ve hoped.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Finished the initial edits of Waking for Winter, which means my full attention is on writing. Which is good. After all of the work I did earlier on editing nonstop, I’m excited for the break. It feels weird not having something to simultaneously edit. Of Tinkers and Technomancers came out last week, kicking off my brand new steampunk romance trilogy! And there’s only about a week and a half left to grab Forged Decisions for 99 cents, so you can catch up for Forged Contracts when it releases a week after! Of course, the onslaught doesn’t stop, because Tales from the Skies and Color of a Soul will be coming out in May and June.

Teaser of the week:

“She placed the beer in front of him. “Keep on wishing, babe,” she purred. “I’m STD free and want to remain that way.”

Line of the week:

Drew snorted as he pulled up an extra chair to the table with them, a plate of pancakes piled high and drenched with syrup. He slammed his fork in and began to chow down.

“I’m just getting rid of the baggage before diving into the good stuff. Perfectly reasonable.”

“Chew a little louder,” Ally shot back. “They can’t hear you in France.”

What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I almost doubled my output from last week! I started getting to all the fun stuff that I’ve been dying to write in this story which always makes it easier to jam out on words. I’m really hoping by next check-in to hit 50,000 which had originally been my goal for March. I just hit 43k in Forged Redemption, so my stretch goal for the month will be 60k, which will probably make getting it finished in April an achievable thing. I’ve cried through writing like half of this book, so either it’s gold, or I’m just a wreck.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’m closing in on finishing the initial edits for Waking for Winter, which is good, because next on the editing agenda is a revise and resubmit for Lies We Weave–we’re talking massive overhaul, folks. Of Tinkers and Technomancers came out yesterday, which is the launch of my new steampunk romance trilogy! In the meanwhile, Forged Decisions is on sale for 99 cents, right in time to catch up with the Tribal Spirits series before Forged Contracts releases! That’s not the only book up for pre-order! Tales from the Skies and Color of a Soul will be coming out in May and June respectively, but the paperbacks should be available before that. (So I can bring them to COGs in May!)

Line of the week:

Ally’s heart squeezed tight in her chest. Every time she wanted to get pissed at Lana for taking a crowbar and prying open the rusted basement doors she’d stuffed her emotions into she couldn’t. Because truth be told, she’d been dying to speak for far too long. Yet every time she tried to open her mouth, all she could see was the dinner table growing up. When she’d start babbling about her day, about what Susie said in school, the butterfly she drew, and how she’d outrun Dax.

Every time, her mom would let out that sigh, the sort of disappointment that no amount of soap could scrub off. And then would come the comments—that mindless words were better off left in her head, that nobody liked obnoxious kids like her, and the time-worn favorite, her eternal trump card: no wonder dad left.
