What story I’m currently working on:

I ended up hitting 50k on Rehoboth Pact #3 and finishing the book! With my massage job opening back up again and a fair amount of editing work on my plate, I’m super busy on the editing front and haven’t even begun to think of what I’m going to work on next. That’s something to mull over for sure. I’m guessing my word counts will be fairly low for the next few weeks, but I’m hoping to be able to dive into something soon.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’ve been doing a little bit of line editing on Rehoboth Pact #2, and then I’ve already started getting some responses and feedback in for Rehoboth Pact #3, so I’ll probably be editing them in tandem for the month. I’m also pretty loaded with my work-editing jobs. Regardless, I’m super, super excited Tempting Ballad comes out in a FEW DAYS, and I’m super excited after all the work I put into that book. Renn and Leo’s story is scorching, and I adored writing the pair.

Fuck, and she missed Chelsea, so damn much.

Her apartment felt emptier than it normally did, so many spaces that Chelsea had just filled up whenever she came over, which had been all the time. In a short month, she’d gotten so used to having Chelsea around all the time, whether she was coming over to visit, they were going out together, or simply texting each other throughout the day. A dozen and one times she’d considered just messaging her and calling a truce, that she didn’t mean any of it.

This loneliness was consuming, aching, and devastating.

This loneliness felt a lot like grief.

What story I’m currently working on:

I hit 11k in Rehoboth Pact #3, mostly because it’s been an absolute blast to write and Kyle and Chelsea are just popping off the page. I adore the two of them so far, my shy, awkward Taurus and my brazen Scorpio. Once I finish this trilogy, I’ll have a choice on my hands–whether to finish Eros Tales #3, start Outlaws #2, or dive into the final Discord’s Desire book. It’s going to be a game time decision, I think. Either way will be a lot more thought/planning involved, at least with the latter two. My Discord’s Desire series is at the culmination of all their plotting to overthrow society, and the Outlaws series requires a lot more planning ahead due to heists.

What I’m editing/marketing:

The beta feedback is already rolling in for Rehoboth Pact #2, so I’m probably going to start editing it next week, which is wicked fast. I got the first round of edits in on Tempting Ballad, which is exciting. It should mean the book is coming out sooner rather than later. I’m currently in a marketing lull, because I don’t know when Tempting Ballad is coming out yet? I think late June or July. After that will be Waking for Winter in September, capping off my Philadelphia Coven Chronicles series! As for Midnight Heist and Of Alchemists and Arsonists, I have no idea when the first book will come out and as for the second, it’s slated for January of next year!

The door creaked open, and Ky stepped inside. The woman looked a little lost as she scanned the tables, her short auburn hair rumpled from the wind, and her cheeks pink from the chill outside. Chelsea’s adrenaline kicked up a notch, something she willfully ignored as she lifted her hand to wave. The moment Ky’s gaze snagged on hers, those hazel eyes crinkled with one beautiful smile.

Chelsea was used to a world of guarded expressions, smooth comments, and extra doses of sarcasm, but there was something different about Kyle Walker. The woman might hide behind awkwardness and fumbling, but when she smiled at her—holy hell, it was enough to knock the breath from her chest. Not a sensation she was used to in the slightest, and probably one she should examine a bit more if she were honest with herself, which she rarely liked to be.

What story I’m currently working on:

I slowed down on Eros Tales #3 again. I’ve been struggling with it–not because the story or characters are uninteresting, but mostly because it’s tough to work up motivation when these books won’t be coming out until 2024. Still, I made some progress, hitting 33k. As for YA Mirror story, I ran out of steam fast for the same reason I ran out of steam with Paranormal Western–I haven’t been in the right mindset for paranormal/fantasy at the moment, though I still hit 3k in YA Mirror Story. What I put a major dent in on was Rehoboth Pact #2, which I started on a whim, even though I haven’t found a home for it yet. I hit 13k in the manuscript already, and I’m zooming toward the midpoint of the story.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’ve got nothing of my own to edit, and the next edits I’ll be waiting for from publishers are the ones for Tempting Ballad and Of Alchemists and Arsonists. Right now, I’ve got Confined Desires, A Thief’s Crusade, and Saving Throw all out on submission, so it’s just the waiting game still. I’m getting ready for Of Coppers and Cracksmen to come out on May 19th–next week! Ellie and Bernard were so much fun to write. Next on the agenda after that is Tempting Ballad with Evernight Publishing in June and Waking for Winter with Soul Mate Publishing in September!

Selina ordered a pint of porter and flashed the bartender the sort of dazzling grin that never got aimed her way. Most of the time she received grimaces or eye rolls from the owner of Renegades.

“I think that sounds like a challenge to me,” Aubs said, sidling a little closer to Selina.

Selina arched a single carved brow. “Everything sounds like a challenge to you.”

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m back on track with Eros Tales #3, hitting 30k this week! The pieces are starting to come into place, and while I’m not smitten with the project, I’m finding it easy enough to amble along with it. I also decided to start a different pet project, just because. So now I’m 2k into what is currently getting dubbed YA Mirror Story. I had the concept at random and decided to let it flow. Who knows how that’ll go, but it might offer a nice detour in the interim while I’m still waiting.

What I’m editing/marketing:

With Quarantine Romance aka Confined Desires out for submission now, I have nothing on my plate to edit, which feels WEIRD. So now I’m just waiting for three different submissions to see if I get to start book two in any of those series. Wish me luck. I’m hoping by next week I’ll have some sort of update/inclination. Last week we celebrated Rising for Autumn’s release! And now I’m ‘gearing’ up for Of Coppers and Cracksmen to come out on May 19th! I’m hoping people enjoy Ellie’s story, because she was a blast to write. Next on the agenda after that is Tempting Ballad with Evernight Publishing in June and Waking for Winter with Soul Mate Publishing in September!

With Nell pressed up against him, her perfume weaving around him like threads, he’d never felt so consumed in his life. He’d longed for a connection like this, a real one, for so long. And Nell was the perfect balance of sweetness and practicality, logical enough to bring up points others might miss in the process. The older Dukas siblings often talked about how much Nell needed protecting, but they’d missed what a capable, amazing woman she’d become in the meanwhile.

Somehow, just admitting the weight he carried out loud had lightened his shoulders a fraction. He knew he should confide in others, but with so many other folks it would be a fight, an argument, a clash of opinions that would leave him wearier afterwards. With Nell, he just knew she’d understand, even if the rest of the world didn’t.

What story I’m currently working on:

Whenever I binge-write and finish something, I usually take a break from writing for a little bit, even if it’s just a couple of days. So I focused on some projects from editing clients and only made it up to 20k with Eros #3. Still though, that’s 1/3 of the way through the book, so that’s saying something. The story’s still flowing decently, so I’ll probably focus on that until I hit a wall. I suppose I can continue working on the Eros Tales series too if that ends up being what I’m vibing with. It’s tough to gauge right now because so much is in limbo with submissions.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Alchemists and Arsonists is officially under contract! Which means that by January 2021, you’ll be able to nab the final book in the Whitfield Files series! I already finished the content edits to send to her, which also took up a chunk of my week. The other thing I started diving into heavily was Quarantine Romance for editing. But, Kat, you say. You just finished that last week! Yeah, I know. But with this quarantine still going on and a few beta reader responses back, I figure that’s enough to dive right in and start polishing away. A Thief’s Crusade and Saving Throw are still in limbo, so we’re just playing the waiting game on those books. If you’re looking for new releases, Rising for Autumn is also available for pre-order, set to come out next week! Next on the agenda is Of Coppers and Cracksmen is available for preorder now, set to come out May 19th!

“Hey Mitch?” Nell’s voice sounded down the hallway. Mitch brought his beer with him as he strode toward the bathroom, billows of steam emerging from the room. Nell’s hair was pulled into a low bun, strands plastered to her face. She had a towel wrapped around her slender curves which left little to the imagination. Nell bit down on her lip. “Do you happen to have a shirt I could borrow too? Apparently the only clothes I have packed are ones for going out, which will be useless to sleep in.”

Well if he hadn’t already been half-hard, the idea of her wrapped up in one of his shirts did the trick. He nodded. “Hold on a second.” Mitch jogged for his bedroom, hoping she didn’t catch the massive hard-on trying to punch through the seams of his jeans. He snagged the top t-shirt from his drawer and headed back to offer it over to Nell.

What story I’m currently working on:

Weeeeeeeeeeell, I finished writing Quara-Romance, hitting 41k in it! Lots and lots of words. So that’ll probably simmer while I wait on critiques for a week or so, and then I’ll be diving into it to edit it and hopefully get it off for submissions by May/June! Since that’s done, I’ll switch my focus back to Eros Tales #3, maybe even diving into Para-Western when I want to. I’ll kinda tread water with Eros Tales #3, because after that’s finished, I don’t really know what I’ll be starting next–it all depends on where my submissions are at.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, I already have some good news on the Alchemists and Arsonists front! My editor loved it, which means you’ll probably see it come out sometime later this year! I need to do a few content edits to send back to her though, so I’ll be working on those probably next week. As for A Thief’s Crusade and Saving Throw, I’m still in limbo, so we’ll seeeee. On the plus, my new releases are coming up sooner rather than later. Of Coppers and Cracksmen is available for preorder now, set to come out May 19th! Rising for Autumn is also available for pre-order, set to come out April 29th! Sky’s eyes heated up at that. The reason why Mia had never pushed her hard throughout this was because she’d always understood. Sky had locked herself into limbo the moment Jamie died, afraid that if she embraced true joy, true happiness without her sister, that somehow she’d be betraying her memory.

But she was beginning to learn—moving forward didn’t mean forgetting the past.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’ve currently paused on Eros Tales #3 because I’m in a groove with my quarantine romance, which I’ve hit 17k on. I’m not quite sure how long this will be, but I’m aiming for at minimum 40k. I think that’s pretty doable since we’re just getting into first kiss territory and there’s quite a bit to go over still. It’ll probably get physical really fast and they’ll miss some of the emotional necessities which will tie into the black moment after the quarantine is lifted. WOOO. I gots some tentative plans. #thatplantserlife

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, since I got some beta reader feedback in on Alchemists and Arsonists, I’ve decided to dive into editing that full force. I’ve already rolled through content edits, and I’m through a significant amount of line edits, so we shall see. Who knows! Maybe next week I’ll be updating that the book’s ready to send off to the publisher! As far as upcoming reads go, Of Coppers and Cracksmen is available for preorder now, set to come out May 19th! Rising for Autumn is also available for pre-order, set to come out April 29th! And later in June, Tempting Ballad is projected to release!

Sky headed to the kitchen to grab her a glass of water for when Mia finished up. The way she looked with her muscles flexing, sweat dripping down her body, and her clothes plastered to her body turned Sky on more than anything. If she hadn’t been such a coward the other night, she wouldn’t just be here watching in the aftermath. Hell, instead, maybe she’d be the one peeling the fabric off of her and tasting the salt on her skin as she memorized Mia’s body with her mouth.

The thought had Sky wet in seconds, and she clenched her thighs together to try and distract herself. Nope, instead she sailed her away on her quickly sinking failboat and pushed the woman she’d lusted after for years away. Good move, champ.

Sky focused on getting the glass of water and pouring herself another mug of coffee that she heated up in the microwave. Even still, she noticed Mia in her peripheral, looking all sweaty and gorgeous, her hair pulled into a ponytail and stray strands glued to her forehead. The flush on her cheeks probably looked the same after she—

Oh Jesus fuck. Head out of the gutter.

The soft sound of Mia’s sharpened breaths wasn’t helping Sky at all. She might as well just pour the ice water over her now—maybe the shock might pull her out.

Tonight. She’d nut up and have a real talk with Mia tonight.

What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I’m starting to pick up steam again (ha, steampunk pun), and I hit 26k in Alchemists and Arsonists. Considering this book is meant to be about 35-40k, I think I’m making decent headway for my goal of finishing it by the end of the month. On a lark, I also started the first chapter of Eros Tales #3, because even if they aren’t coming out until 2024, if they’re all written and ready, I can do a rapid release of the series. So I’m already 2k into that new book as well. I’m not going to lie–that book will probably fly by, because I’ve been jonesin to write contemporary romance recently, and it’s my first May/December romance.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Guys, I finished Tempting Ballad AND sent it out for submission last week. So hopefully there’ll be good news for you soon, maybe even as early as next week! With that done though, I don’t have anything I’m currently editing, at least not until I finish the next book in my Whitfield Files series! I’m also going to start ramping up the marketing for Rising for Autumn and Of Coppers and Cracksmen! It’s weird after a year of so many releases to have so few this year! I’ve got to get cracking on that.

Lex and Adrian viewed their sister as this bubbly, sweet thing—and he’d seen that side of her. Nellie was probably one of the gentlest, most genuine individuals he’d ever met. But the side they’d never seen from her, what he’d witnessed was the flirtatious, seductive minx who knew exactly what buttons she pressed.

Which was apparently the side that stepped out to play tonight.

“Sure thing, Nels,” he responded, the familiar nickname one that hadn’t slipped from him in years.

Her eyes smoldered in response. “How about tequila?” She pursed her lips, fixing him with her stare. “Whatever you think will leave me satisfied.”

Mitch restrained a groan. God, this woman. Why couldn’t she be coming in on Matty’s night? Based on the fixated stare she gave him, this was all intentional. They’d been dodging around each other for years now, ever since she’d gotten hitched to Greg. However, tonight was a reappearance of the girl he’d tumbled into bed with, even when he knew Lex would slit his throat if she ever found out.

What story I’m currently working on:

My pace ground to a halt, not because I haven’t been working on writing at all, but because I had to divert attention. Still, we’re getting into the final chapters before the big final part of the book, so I think I’ll get through it sooner rather than later. I know for a fact I’ll have it finished before the end of March, which is a good thing! Belle and Nate are just too precious. I’m at 23k in Of Alchemists and Arsonists, but hopefully I’ll push through soon 🙂

What I’m editing/marketing:

Because I rocked through the content edits for Tempting Ballad, I’m now down to the final three passes of my line edits for the book which are really time consuming. However, I’d like to stake the claim here and now that I’ll be done the edits and have the book ready for submission by the time I report in next week. I’ve been working really hard on it and focusing on trying to get it completed so I can have another book out there this year.

What story I’m currently working on:

The pace remained slower this week, mostly because I also had other things in the mix, but I did reach 20k in Of Alchemists and Arsonists, so either the halfway point or more in this final Whitfield Files book! I’m having a lot of fun with the book. Belle and Nate are both saccharine sweet, and it’s so much fun to see Ellie and Theo in action again, especially since the big bad of this book will tie the whole series together.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, I slammed through a lot of the content edits for Tempting Ballad far faster than I thought I would.Which means I’m ticking away at the line edits, and I’m nearing closer and closer to be able to send it out for submission. I know at least by the end of March, that book will be sent out, which makes me really happy. It’ll be great getting things out there again. Last year set me back a bit with projects that are waiting to find homes and ones that are waiting a few years to be able to release. She could feel the press of Nate’s gaze on her, and she wanted to look back, desperately.

“You know the offer still stands,” he murmured, an undisguised concern in his voice. What she wouldn’t do to remain here in the warmth of his apartment.

“You’re a blessing, but I’ll be testing my mettle on the streets tonight,” Belle responded, her heart thumping harder in her chest. She rested her hand on the cool doorknob. “Thank you.”

At that, she strode out into the corridor. She hadn’t gone three paces when the chill from outside began to set in and her skin braced for a night of icy, permeating rain.
