What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I just passed the 36k mark on the first book in the Dungeons and Dating series. This book is just flowing, and I keep rolling through with it. My goal is 70k for the book, but it’ll probably end up being more like 60k, which is fine. I’ll eventually be returning to Tempting Ballad too, though I’m probably going to swing a concentrated effort into it during NaNoWriMo in November.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Well, my focus is switching around due to certain developments, so while I’m working on this new foray with the Dungeons and Dating book, I’ll be continuing the Outlier Heir rewrite. It’s coming along, since I’m 1/3 of the way through. I finished up on the Scrying for Summer edits, so you can be keeping an eye out for the pre-order soon. Speaking of pre-orders, Captured Memories is already on the docket, book three in the Cupid’s Cafe series. AND if you haven’t checked it out yet, Forged Redemption is now LIVE! The entire Tribal Spirits series is available on Kindle Unlimited for a limited time only, so check it out!

Jasper clutched a hand to his chest. “It’s like a real Thanksgiving dinner with Mommy and Daddy fighting.”

Roxie couldn’t help the snort that flew from her. Leave it to Jas to switch to sarcastic humor. “This is leagues better than trying for a Thanksgiving dinner with my family. I don’t have to drive anyone to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.”

“Or pull a needle out of anyone’s arm,” Ford contributed. Roxie’s brows lifted—that was the most the guy had volunteered since he’d started working for them. She met his gaze and nodded. She understood.

“Christ, what kind of Thanksgiving dinners have you guys been going to?” Mel jumped in. “We just have turkey, mashed potatoes, and a pun-off.”

Lilah blanched. “Oh god, that’s way worse.”

Mel snorted and lifted up a spoon full of mashed potatoes. “Points are deducted for fowl play.”

Forged Redemption Release Day!

978-1-913186-65-4_ForgedRedemption1500X2400

With the end of the series hitting the shelves today, I wanted to take a little time and talk about the Tribal Spirits series.

This series had a rocky start–I tried it at a bunch of places and even faced some rejections because the female alpha heroine in the first book was ‘too strong.’ Funny enough, that’s what most readers liked about her the most. Then I placed it at Loose Id and while the second book was on submission at Loose Id, I found out they were closing doors.

That led me to Totally Bound Publishing, a place that has been an absolute joy to work with. They’re innovative, cooperative, and constantly put out quality final products. So, because I had the second ready to go, the pace on this series grew faster and faster. I had already started book three, so I plunged right into working on it, and then book four, and earlier this year, the very book that’s coming out today. The series started out a bit more lighthearted and snarky, and as is my norm (at least if the Coven Chronicles are any indication), the issues grew heavier with the ensuing books.

That leads me to Drew and Ally’s book. Most of the issues my characters dealt with in other books were things I had to research and imagine, however this one was an issue I’m well versed in–infertility. So often I’ve seen infertility utilized as a plot device in books, where the heroine can’t conceive, but by the end of the book, BAM, she magically can. While everyone going through it hopes for that outcome, it’s not always possible, and I wanted to write a couple who lived with the reality that sometimes life isn’t so forgiving, but you create your own family in whatever form that takes.

This book is dedicated to everyone who’s either dealt with or is still dealing with infertility. I want our voices heard too, our stories out there. So, with that, I hope you enjoy the final book in the Tribal Spirits series. It’s been a wild ride–I’ve learned a lot, laughed a lot, and cried a lot writing this series and these characters, and I’m going to miss them.

Grab Forged Redemption here!

The sparks of Ally and Drew’s old relationship ignite, but their broken pasts and a final fight against Mackey Kendricks threaten any hope of a future.

After Drew fell in with the Landsliders and destroyed his former pack, forgiveness isn’t something he deserves. However, no matter how hard the Tribe has tried, Mackey Kendricks can’t be stopped. So when they narrow down the vicinity of the monster’s hidden lair, the Tribe calls upon him again, this time for one of the most dangerous hunts—a recon mission to find the exact location.

However, when his former flame Ally signs on as the other member of the team, their attempts at avoiding each other crumble to the ground. No matter how hard they both try and no matter how many times they’ve walked away, the flame has never extinguished between them. This time, Drew’s fought for his redemption, changed for the better, and the relationship that blooms between them, for once, might stand a chance.

All they have to do is survive the fight against the biggest, baddest shifter on the East Coast.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m still loving the new Dungeons and Dating series I’m working on, enough that I got all the way to 26k. It’s honestly the only thing pulling me through right now, because it looks like another series of mine will be on a five year hiatus. Once I slow down on Dungeons and Dating (or even finish it if I’m really jiveing with it), I’ll be back into working on Tempting Ballad, book 3 in the Discord’s Desire series.

What I’m editing/marketing:

My Eros Tales series is going to be on hiatus for five years, but in the meanwhile, I’ll be working on writing the entire thing in hopes of releasing all five books in 2024. I’m finishing up on the Scrying for Summer edits, which is great because it comes out in November! Captured Memories, Cupid’s Cafe #3, is already available for pre-order, set to come out November 5th, and the final Tribal Spirits book, Forged Redemption, is out on October 1st!

“Every damn day,” Roxie said. Thinking of the warmth in Dad’s chocolate eyes, the smell of grappa, and the sweet melody when he spoke his native tongue instantly vaulted her back. She took the first steps under the pavilion, the shadows soothing her sun-warmed skin. “I’ve had a lot of time and space to grieve him, but coming back to places like this remind me of when we had a family. Before Mom started trying to drink herself into a grave and my sister coped by cutting us out.”

She stood by the overlook facing Stow lake and watched the water ripple. A few geese floated by, or paperina as Dad would’ve called them. She’d been terrified of coming back here, but as she looked out over the water, the first stirrings of peace swept over her like early morning dew. Mel stepped beside her, and a second later, she felt a palm against hers.

Roxie swallowed hard as their fingers intertwined. She clung onto that connection with all her might, just wishing, wishing, wishing. Mel wasn’t someone she could have, but her heart and mind ceased listening to logic.

With every passing day, Roxie fell for her a little more.

What story I’m currently working on:

Honestly, it’s a bit of a miracle that I ended up with the word count that I did. Given the bout of bad news last week, I thought I’d be down for the count a lot longer than this. However, I did take a hiatus on Tempting Ballad at 20k, and I’m pausing work on the Paranormal Western for now. I was getting into the vibe of the Discord’s Desire book, but the rough news kinda put a damper on that. However, I did end up getting a really fun idea and knocked out 12k on that book, so I’m just going to roll with that right now and take my joy where I can find it.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Everything I was working on kind of went on pause after the news last Thursday, so I’m still trying to sort out how to move forward. I’ll give the official updates on things when I have answers myself. In the interim, I got in edits for Scrying for Summer, which will be coming out with Soul Mate Publishing in November, so I’ve got to hunker down and work on those again. And the release of the final Tribal Spirits book, Forged Redemption, is less than two weeks away. For the time being, Forged Alliances is still 99 cents, so grab it at that price while you can!

Roxie chewed on her lip, chasing around a piece of broccoli with a fork. “It’s more that half the time once we wrap up the kitchen’s closed, or I’m just on a mission to get home and know if I wait around, I’ll get suckered into more work.”

“I’ve always lived with someone, so we’ve always just kind of split the whole dinner thing,” Melody admitted. “Even though I’ve had my share of shitty roommates, I’d probably die if I were alone, eaten by cats or something. I seriously need to be around people.”

Roxie lifted one of those curved brows. “I’m starting a death counter for you, drama queen.”

What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I’m at 19k in Tempting Ballad, and 2k on my Paranormal Western. Damn, I think I’m starting to get back to my old pace! I’ve been doing so much editing for the past month that I’ve barely put new words down, and I definitely missed it. However, writing is a reflex, and after so long of not writing, the reflex was taking awhile to kick back in. Renn and Kincaid are an interesting pair, and the Paranormal Western has been percolating in my brain for awhile, even though I’m not sure where I’m going to take it.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Still living that waiting life, lol. However, now that I don’t have long, extensive editing projects, I’m able to switch to the rewritey edits I was mid-stride on for Outlier Heir. I’m taking it as an exercise to see how far I can develop the old story. I think it still has a lot of promise, and I don’t want to let it just rot in purgatory, but given a few years distance, I can see a lot of the flaws waiting to be fixed. The final Tribal Spirits book, Forged Redemption, comes out October 1st, but there will also be two re-releases in November: Captured Memories (Cupid’s Cafe #3) and Scrying for Summer (Philadelphia Coven Chronicles #2)

Renn stuffed his trash into the can and strode over to where Kincaid was still picking at his asparagus. He leaned down and wrapped his hands around the take-out container. “I’ve got this.”

“What’s saying I’m finished?” Kincaid asked, his tone amused.

“I am,” Renn growled. He almost flung the container onto the desk before he strode back up to Kincaid and closed the space between them. He wrapped his hands around Kincaid’s neck and planted his lips onto the man’s.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m at 12k at Tempting Ballad and still trying to get in the swing of things. It’s taking some time, since I just did a major editing push. Though, this book has been scorching so far–Renn’s got sex on the brain nonstop, and it’s going to be tough to switch this commitment phobe’s gear to a relationship with the rebel CEO. I adore both of the characters though. They’ve been really fun to write.

What I’m editing/marketing:

The waiting, the waiting, the waiiiting–now on Pomegranate’s Kiss too, because I finished that book this past week and sent it off to submissions. Once I hear back from the publisher, I’m going to decide if I’m gonna start writing Tempting Ballad and the next Eros Tales simultaneously, because Mitch and Nellie’s story is begging to be written. Next on the release agenda is the final Tribal Spirits book, Forged Redemption, but there will also be two re-releases in November: Captured Memories (Cupid’s Cafe #3) and Scrying for Summer (Philadelphia Coven Chronicles #2)

Renn slid into the bed, that scent of Kincaid’s rosewood cologne wrapping around him. Kincaid reached forward, stroked a palm over his cock, and then bit his ear. A shudder ran down Renn’s spine and he ground himself against Kincaid’s grasp. He didn’t give a damn if he’d already come earlier in the night—he was ready for round two.

“Hope you have dirty dreams about me,” Kincaid murmured. “See you in the morning.”

Just as fast, he removed his hands and teeth and then switched the light off. Kincaid slipped under the blankets, rested his head on the pillow, and closed his eyes. Renn flipped to face him, the man’s hands not all over his body like they should’ve been.

“You’re a fucking sadist,” Renn muttered, running a hand through his tangled strands. His cock was so hard he could knock someone out with it.

“Only for you, gorgeous,” Kincaid shot back, his lips lifting in a grin even though his eyes remained shut.

Renn swallowed hard as he flipped away from Kincaid. Something about this caused his skin to prickle—it felt way more intimate than sticking his dick in someone. He shifted at least five times before Kincaid’s hand settled on his side. The weight of it caused Renn to still, for once the thump-thump-thump inside him levelling out. He closed his eyes and sucked in a deep breath.

What story I’m currently working on:

Tried to write at least a LITTLE this week even with all of the other stuff going on. I hit a little past 8k with Tempting Ballad and am going to keep pacing forward with it. Even though I’ve got no idea where this story is going to take me, I’ve got a couple players in place to toy around with, and the boys have been bantering like fiends. They’re so much freaking fun.

What I’m editing/marketing:

THE WAITING THE WAITING THE WAITING. On the submission front at least. I’m going to keep working on Pomegranate’s Kiss, because I’m actually into the final rounds of edits on it, though I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the month. If not, that’s okay, because I’ve got a class to teach starting next week that is going to take up some extra time, so I’m cutting myself the slack. The next release on the horizon though is in October…Forged Redemption.

His mouth collided with Renn’s at a bruising force. His fingers threaded through Renn’s hair and he tugged, his grip tightening. His other hand slipped beneath the fabric of his shirt to feel those washboard abs. Renn tasted like whiskey and blood and he couldn’t get enough. He trailed his fingers down that chest to cup Renn’s cock, the sizeable erection straining the seams of his jeans. Kincaid already got hard the moment this man walked through the door.

Renn kissed like an attack, with teeth, with force, with an inherent wildness that was utterly real.
