Happy New Year!

Image result for happy new year

Let’s bid 2018 goodbye and set forth into the new year! And I’m planning on kicking some ass in 2019…

Starting with a brand new release, TODAY. Forged Decisions, book two in my Tribal Spirits series comes out today! And if you haven’t checked out the Tribal Spirits series yet, Forged Alliances is on sale for only 99 cents to celebrate!

ForgedDecisions

When Finn falls for Navi, a member of the East Coast Tribe, he’ll have to choose between the pack and family who saved him and the unforgettable woman who’s made her mark.

Ever since Sierra and Dax mated, forming their alliance, Finn has been restless in his position as beta for the Red Rock pack. So, when Navi, the gorgeous, lethal member of the East Coast Tribe, conscripts him to help break up the Landsliders’ drug-running ring, he leaps on the opportunity. As they work together, their attraction deepens to more than comrades and far more than a one-night stand. Except Navi isn’t sticking around town forever and Finn has his own responsibilities tethering him to the Red Rock pack.

When the trail to the drug ring leads them to the man who murdered Finn’s parents, Finn’s forced to confront the fears he’s buried and, in the process, the connection between him and Navi grows scorching and unforgettable. However, with an underground meth lab to bust and his parents’ murderer to take down, Finn throws his heart and soul into the fight, because he knows, even if he survives this, he’ll be forever marked by the goodbyes to follow.

And that’s just the beginning! We’ve got a whole line-up for 2019 already, and that’s not even including books out on submission or in the pipeline. Hope you’re ready to read!

Weekly Word Count #133

Word Count: 2,049

What story I’m currently working on: Making tiny steps with Airship, and I’m okay with that. I’m building into a crescendo, so that next week I’ll be back on top with pushing through the final 20k of the book in January. December was a turbulent month with a lot of reassessing and revisiting certain projects, so I had to slow down on the writing. I can write like a fiend when my target is clear, but while I’m figuring out my 2018 path, I needed to switch to heavy editing and get other things set up for next year.

What I’m editing/marketing: Captivating Melody is out on submission, so I’m still waiting to hear from 5 different publishers on that front. Fingers crossed! In the meanwhile, I’m almost done all of the Outlier Heir revisions and will be going back to submitting that in the new year. I also completely reworked Chasing Fate and now I’m tackling a new query, so that will be front and center at the start of 2018. I’m going to dive back into Musketeer Pirates next week since I’ll have all my submission items ready to launch come next week, and that’s when I can switch focus back to writing as well.

Teaser of the week:

An invitation to Cupid_s Café will change your life.

Line of the week:

Geoff slammed into my side, knocking me off balance. I staggered to the side right as a bullet zoomed inches overhead.

“I know this place is fancy and all, but you’ve got to stop gawking,” Geoff said with a grin. “They might just figure out we don’t belong here.”

I snorted, lifting up Matilda and squeezing the trigger in the direction of those guards firing at us. “Because the bullets aren’t any indicator,” I drawled back.

What story I’m working on: Night Awakens! I managed to squeeze a little writing time in between the holiday chaos.

Line of the week:

“You. Idiot.” I ground out the words through my gritted teeth. “Follow my lead,” I mocked his earlier words, my voice coming out low and barely restrained. “What part of ‘I’ve got a handle on this’ involves stomping into the chief’s office and leading with the fact that I’m a nightshade?”

Darren heaved out a sigh. “Maybe I didn’t think it the whole way through.”

“My LIFE is on the line,” I hissed, “why the hell would you leave that to a dice roll?”

Airships, sky-pirates, smugglers, and soldiers…An Airship Named Desire will take you for a thrilling ride.

Ever since their last botched smuggling job, First Mate Bea and the crew of her airship can barely afford fuel, let alone a barrel of grog. So when a gentleman from Old Germany offers them a fortune to steal a locked box from a British merchant airship, they jump on the opportunity. However, their employer forgot to mention the box’s military escort and the Morlock mercenaries who would slit throats to get their hands on it. Oh, and if made public, the contents could engulf Europe in another devastating war.

Stealing the box was the easy part. Now, with a target on their back and some of the toughest characters in the skies after them, if the crew of the Desire doesn’t polish their pistols and prepare for a hell of a fight, they’ll end up worse than grounded. After all, everyone from the Brits to the Morlocks will kill for the contents of that box, and no one survives an airship crash.

What’s on the Horizon for 2016?

As I slam the door in 2015’s face and offer a goodbye kiss, I’m already plotting for the new year.

Projects:

The Iron Legacy- this is the young adult project born out of 2015’s hardships. It’s got the Celt mythology that’s in my blood, and the passion and determination that beats in my heart. Also, a smokin’ hot thief.

Night Awakens- Snark City over here! Naz and Darren are a fiery couple just brimming with sexual tension. Plus, I get to explore new creature creation with the nightshades!

Take to the Skies #3- More of Bea and the crew? Well, 2015 convinced me to spend a little more time with them, and besides, they’re just too damn fun to quit.

Potential Projects:

Scrying for Summer- depending on how things go, I may do a follow-up to Hunting for Spring. More Philly fun with characters you’re already familiar with.

Take to the Skies Novella-similar to Stolen Petals, I’m tempted to do a novella with a certain captain of a certain ship from book two.

Releases:

Hunting for Spring- Kicking off the new year right with a big release for a story that I absolutely love! Plus, if this does well, I might just be inspired to do a sequel.

A Tale of Two Airships- currently in the hands of the most trusted of beta-readers, this will be edited and released by the end of the year.

TBA- I’m shopping a few projects right now, so who knows!

Events:

On the event front, I’m already booked in for quite a few. Folks can catch up with me at Wicked Faire, Steampunk World’s Fair, Fan Focus Events, Steampunk Unlimited, and perhaps a new steampunk event in Delaware come June!

I’ll be toting along the new copy of An Airship Named Desire, as well as Curiouser, but even cooler, I’ve figured a way to sell e-books directly at the event, so if there’s a book you’d like of mine, come chat! I promise I won’t sing too loud…

On an even cooler note, I’m going to be running Murder on the Airship Desire, a murder mystery tea party at Fan Focus!! Needless to say, I’m thrilled.

And on a more personal front, the theme of this year for me is ORGANIZE. I really want to get my life organized, and while this past year was a start with setting a writing schedule for myself, I’d like to expand that to different facets, and really maximize my writing time, while balancing social time, family, and health. Lofty task, sure, but I planted the seeds this year! Just need to help them flourish 😀

What are everyone else’s plans for the new year?
