The Airship Also Rises Audio Book is Live!

The Airship Also Rises is now available in audio book, narrated by Cari Scholtens!

The crew of the Desire returns for one final, thrilling adventure.

Ever since Bea and the crew stole that box from the British Merchant ship, they’ve been drowning under enemies: the Brits, the Morlocks, and the man who started it all – their ex-employer. However, Bea finally tracks him down and prepares for one final fight against the man who made their life hell.

He’s got superior numbers and more weapons and wealth than she could dream up, while she’s got a threadbare crew running on grit and dreams alone. The crew of the Desire doesn’t stand a chance. But Bea’s spent a lifetime defying the odds, and she and the crew will risk it all – their livelihood, their ship, and their lives for the chance to fly the skies free once more.

Secrets will unravel, and loyalties will be tested in the smoking conclusion of the Take to the Skies series.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m forging forward with Hypnotizing Beat, and I think I need to continue on and complete it, not get sidetracked by writing my beautiful shifters. I’m starting to figure out my next steps here, and I think the book is going to be super fun. While I’m doing a faster release schedule with my shifty shiftersons (I’m going to try to have books 4 and 5 written by next year), I think I’m going to do one a year for the Discord’s Desire crew. (Though, who knows. If I end up feeling this series, I’ll probably move faster)

What I’m editing/marketing:

Crazily enough, I’ve got beta responses on Forged Contracts already, and so I’ve begun my edits. I also am continuing to slog away at The Lies We Weave, and I’m hoping that my beta readers give me solid feedback, but also that I don’t have to rewrite the entire thing again, lol. From the looks of it, next year is going to be abundant with releases, to the point of ridiculousness, methinks. Regardless, I’m excited, and I have some more news on the horizon to share soon.

Teaser of the week:

He didn_t know what he searched for out there in all the blue. Maybe the faintest glimmer of hope, like the sun gliding off the rippling surface of the lake.(3)

Line of the week:

She let go of his hand the moment they entered the bathroom, a fluorescent overhead blinking on.

He shut the door behind him with an audible click.

The moment he turned around, Danica’s mouth was on his. She tasted honey sweet with the sharp sting of coffee, and he slipped his palms around her chin, her cheeks to draw her closer. He’d been imagining the way those pert lips would feel from the moment they’d met, but the reality was far, far, better, a silken glide that he found himself addicted to. He kissed her again and again, backing away to tease, baiting her to lunge in for more.

Captivating Melody is Under Contract!

“Hope you enjoy the show then, darling.” Heat flickered in his amber eyes, and his lowered voice made the implication quite clear.

At long last, Captivating Melody is under contract, and with Evernight Publishing!

Cross a satyr, a siren, and an incubus with rock and roll, and you get Discord’s Desire, a band of panty-dropping hellions whose live shows incite orgies. Of course, their booking manager, Liz O’Brien, gets saddled with the monumental task of keeping the boys in line. She’s not your average chick, resistant to glamour of the fae and fame variety, which only makes her more tempting to their lead singer, Kieran Blackmore. With his incubus charms, silken voice, and GQ looks, he could have any girl he wants—except Liz. She doesn’t do serious flings, and she’s determined to keep things professional.

However, when Kieran’s brother sends hitmen after the band, Liz discovers others with her abilities—hunters, who just declared themselves enemies of the fae. Liz leans on Kieran for support, who proves his dedication at every step. Fae mercenaries might attack post-show, but Liz has her Beretta to handle that. What terrifies her more than any monster chasing after them is how she’s falling for Kieran. Her deep feelings trigger every ‘run-away’ sensor in her foster kid handbook, and worse, with war brewing between the hunters and the fae, their love can only end in heartbreak.

What story I’m currently working on:

Weeeeell, I don’t know if you noticed my lack of update last week? That’s because I was in PARIS. An amazing goddamn trip. And while there, I got amazing news that changed the trajectory of what I’m working on! Captivating Melody, book one in my Discord’s Desire series, is now picked up by Evernight Publishing, which means book two is a go! I just started Hypnotizing Beat and got up to a thousand words in! Since I’ve gotten home, I also plunged back into Taking Root and got up to 14k into the book!

What I’m editing/marketing: Well now, I started submitting out A Card of Shadows, what I’ve been referring to as The Wanderers, so it’s currently the waiting game. While I wanted to dive back into the edits on Musketeer Pirates, the fae novella comes first, so I started putting a major dent into that! I also scheduled edits for June, so that puts me on a nice and solid timeline for it. In upcoming news, the other steampunk boxset I’m in, Gaslights and Graves, is available for pre-order and goes live next Tuesday!!! An important announcement too: on May 7th, Loose Id is going into official shutdown and will begin pulling books from retailers. If you want to get my Philadelphia Coven Chronicles series or Forged Alliances, this will be your only chance for some time.

Line of the week:

A group of college age girls giggled from the other side of the bar, trying to flash him looks they deemed seductive. Trevor had received enough of them to become one jaded motherfucker. Unlike Jett and Ren who constantly whored themselves out, Trevor was a little more careful with who he took to bed. After all, no amount of energy he could siphon from a good fuck would fix the hopelessness that threatened to choke him every waking day. He spent his time waiting for the inevitable—to end up in that cell again.

What story I’m currently working on:

Another slow writing week, but there happened to be a major wrench in my plans, sigh. After Glows Publishing is going through a reorganization process, so my Cupid’s Cafe book is also on hiatus. So, I returned my attention to Taking Root and have continued writing the follow up chapter to what I had prepped for the proposal. I figure I’ll just keep trucking away at that one until I get some news to push me in a direction. It’s been a ton of fun so far.

What I’m editing/marketing: Continuing to work on synopses and queries, but I’m making some headway and sent out the first submissions. I finished the Wanderers edit, and it’s STUNNING. I also got the beta reads back for the fae novella, so I started doing some edits on that–though, I have time since it’s not due until July! Once that’s done, I’m returning to Musketeer Pirates to spiffy it the hell up. My young adult fairytale, A Reflection of Ice came out three weeks ago, same with Corsets and Cogs, which hit bestseller and is now available in paperback!! In upcoming news, the other steampunk boxset I’m in, Gaslights and Graves, is available for pre-order!

Teaser of the week:

Right now, she didn’t want to think about the future, she just wanted to feel something wild and deep, something with fire enough to thaw the ice encasing her heart..jpg

Line of the week:

“Going to pull a Cinderella once midnight strikes?” he asked, barely able to hear his own words amidst the pulsing music and the bodies twisting and turning around them. He didn’t want tonight to end. He wanted the chance to get to know her in a real, lasting way like the imprints she’d left on his memory all those years ago.

Her lips quirked in a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, the sadness gleaming in those mesmerizing jade eyes. “Wouldn’t be any fun otherwise,” she responded. “Got to leave a little mystery or I’ll lose my allure.”

Disappointment curled in his chest, but she pressed her body against his, her nails digging into his shoulders. Not only did that lithe body of hers strike a fresh match to embers that he thought had died, but her vibrancy and her lonely fight made him want in a way he’d forgotten.

What story I’m currently working on:

My god, what is this pace? I just hit 38k on the Wanderers story, which I’m projecting to be around 70k. I’ll probably flesh it out a little further in the edits, but for a YA urban fantasy, the fast pacing and rapidness of the story just works. I’ve been living and breathing this story the past couple weeks and it’s been the sort of experience that makes me fall in love with writing all over again.

However, I also started another story, because I decided to join in on the steampunk anthology, Corsets and Cogs, which is coming out in the spring! I hit 2k with it yesterday, which is the minimum amount for the set. The maximum is 10k, but I’m projecting it to fall around 5k, which I can finish over the next week. My hope is that by the end of the day today I’ll have hit 3k on this project and 40k on the Wanderers story.

What I’m editing/marketing: I think the beginning of February heralds a lot of the edits I’ve been waiting on, ones for Of Tinkers and Technomancers, as well as line edits for A Reflection of Ice. As for the multiple fulls and manuscripts I have out with agents and publishers, I’m living that waiting life. However, with two boxsets to promote (Corsets and Cogs, as well as Gaslight and Graves–both steampunk!) I’ll be super busy on the marketing front! I’m starting to get beta responses in on The Airship Also Rises, so that will be on my agenda soon 🙂

Line of the week:

“Hey, Pops,” Bree called back down, offering a small wave. He might’ve been furious and disappointed with her the other day, but he wasn’t the sort to hold grudges. Not that she’d forgotten the dressing down. It was always the tiredness in his eyes when he reprimanded her that shredded her to pieces. That was her effect on everyone in the family. They’d all gotten tired of it over the years, her fury, her impulsiveness, her.
