Hunting for Spring Paperback!

ebook (2)

Hunters are a lonely breed, and Conor’s no exception, until the day he meets Brenna. Even though she slinks in unannounced and kills the wight he was hunting down, the girl’s a mystery and he can’t get that blinding smile or those gorgeous curves off his mind. Since they’re both after the same caster who’s unleashing these monsters, he suggests teaming up, and despite her initial reluctance, the hungry way she scans him down promises something powerful.

However, her secrets have repercussions, and faster than Conor can lift his Glock, he’s drawn into the web of kidnappings and Unseelie mischief, all concealing the machinations of a darker foe—one that plans to bring Philly to ruin.

Weekly Word Count #116

Katherine McIntyre (2)

Word Count: 6,168

What story I’m currently working on: Still moving slower than you’d think given where I am with Forged Decisions, but again, for REASONS! I hit 40k with Forged Decisions, woop woop, so in the upcoming weeks I should be hurtling towards the finish line. I’ll be continuing with Protector of Asgard as well, picking up from where I paused at 9k.

What I’m editing/marketing: With Forged Alliances, I’m now just waiting on line edits! So in the interim, I decided to put a major dent into the Steampunk with a Twist novella…Of Tinkers and Technomancers. And guess what! I finished and sent it in!!! In the interim, I also submitted my Asgard Lounge proposal, the project now titled Protector of Asgard! In case you hadn’t seen the news last week, the Airship Named Desire audio book is now available here!!

Teaser of the week:

Line of the week:

The heat in his voice and the tender way he held her—it was too much. It cracked her wide open, the arctic, remote part of herself that had shut off from ever considering anything like this. The little girl who lost the ability to hope long ago.

Rising for Autumn is Out Tomorrow!

km_risingforautumn

Get the book on February 7th, here!

Crisis and danger have become second nature for Alanna Carrington. After all, as the boss of the Philadelphia Coven, she’s responsible for upholding the laws amongst the supernatural. Which means when the Order of the Serpent rears its ugly head, this time with the most powerful necromancer this city’s ever seen, she’s the one person who can keep Philly safe. Ex-Order djinn and now ally, Samuel Karim, happens to be the best-suited guy to help. Except he’s also the first man who’s stoked her interest in far too long, and ever since she commandeered the lamp he’s tethered to for safekeeping, he also hates her guts.

As the Order gathers the necromancers of her city and sparks a dangerous alliance, she finds herself working with Samuel Karim more and more. Hatred turns to passion, and when he exhibits a strength and compassion that breaks through her ironclad defenses, she finds herself falling deeper despite the complications between them. Yet with her city under siege and their lives on the line, the sharp desire between them erupts into the temptation to break their own rules, before the Order of the Serpent robs them of the chance permanently.

Philadelphia Coven Chronicles Progress!

Hunting for Spring kicked off this awesome series!

bookpromo46

Conor and Brenna introduced the whole magical world inside of Philly teeming with nasties. And by the end of the story, their lives got tethered to the Coven, which is the recurring organization throughout the series, hence the name!

Now Liam and Jev get to tell their story in Scrying for Summer, and they continue the tales of the Order of the Serpent causing problems throughout Philly. And introducing more new, awesome characters!

Currently I’m working on a necromancer and Order of the Serpent filled story with Alanna and Sam at the helm. Book three is underway, Rising for Autumn!! Hurray!

Intro to Jev!

Jev Brennan is the heroine of Scrying for Summer, my latest release!

KM_ScryingforSummer

She’s probably one of my favorite heroines that I’ve written. Not only is she a smart-talkin, sassy witch, but I absolutely love her honesty. Jev’s often hyper, unafraid to mouth off and call people out, and the way she gets bored easily leads her to seek out danger on a regular basis. I love her ever-changing hair colors too–first neon green, now cerulean, and in Rising for Autumn, the next book, she’s got pink hair! I can’t wait for people to enjoy her story!

Music Monday- Scrying for Summer

Return of the Music Monday!

This one will be delivering a hefty helping of Scrying for Summer which will release tomorrow with Loose Id! Who’s excited? I know I am!

(Warning, this playlist was eclectic)

MSI- Straight to Video

This one jumped into my head early on, probably because Jev’s character is a club kid in the alternative scene, and while this isn’t the fare they played at Nocturne when I was a teenager, I do have strong memories of that timeframe with this song. The spunkiness and energy of the song fit a lot of the interim scenes of the book and their jaunts through Philly.

Don Henley- The Boys of Summer

How do you have a summer-themed book without this song? Honestly, this one took me back too, because I had a summer I spent falling in love at diners, and this song was always playing on the radio in the background. The nostalgic feel of this fit the book so, so well, and really helped me nail down some of the sweeter, more intense moments between Liam and Jev.

The Outfield- Your Love

Another super summery song for me, probably due to the heavy nostalgia-laced riffs throughout. Seriously, try to listen and not sing along with this song. It’s impossible. Regardless, this was another song I tuned into when I was writing down the sexier and deeper moments between Liam and Jev.

D.H.T.- Listen to Your Heart

Another classic from my summer love in diners, this version of Listen to Your Heart was CONSTANTLY on replay, and I couldn’t help indulge in writing the deepest, shard-slicing moments of Liam and Jev’s romance to this song. Seriously, points of this book broke my heart, and I connected to these characters in a really unique way, probably why the story came so effortlessly.

Sonic Boom Six-Floating Away

More summer-nostalgia-fueled songs, except this one has a darker note that I’ll always adore. Also, must pause a moment to pimp the ever loving hell out of Sonic Boom Six. This song always transports me to a slightly melancholic but beautiful place, of remembering the past, and of the mistakes once made, which fits Liam’s state of mind perfectly.

The next project on the horizon is Rising for Autumn, book THREE in the Philly Coven Chronicles. This one deals with Alanna and Sam, necromancers galore, and more Coven politics! I am typing away at the moment because I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Scrying for Summer Opening Lines

It’s said that the opening lines are pivotal, yes? Well, here’s the chance to check out the opening lines to Scrying for Summer, book two of the Philadelphia Coven Chronicles! (Book one, Hunting for Spring, is already on Amazon!)

Some days, this library’s constant state of disarray was charming. Other days, it was Jev’s personal hell.

Today it took all her resolve not to resort to fire-and-brimstone methods regarding the stacks of books ready to tip. She let out a hiss at her desk and cast a dark look to the nearest stack. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t the books or the mess that flooded her veins with agitation. Chances were, the peace and quiet caused this. All the routine. Jev hated routine.

Are you as excited as I am? Add it on Goodreads, and check it out when it releases on August 9th!!!
