Weekly Word Count: 3/13/19

Word Count: 16043

What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I almost doubled my output from last week! I started getting to all the fun stuff that I’ve been dying to write in this story which always makes it easier to jam out on words. I’m really hoping by next check-in to hit 50,000 which had originally been my goal for March. I just hit 43k in Forged Redemption, so my stretch goal for the month will be 60k, which will probably make getting it finished in April an achievable thing. I’ve cried through writing like half of this book, so either it’s gold, or I’m just a wreck.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’m closing in on finishing the initial edits for Waking for Winter, which is good, because next on the editing agenda is a revise and resubmit for Lies We Weave–we’re talking massive overhaul, folks. Of Tinkers and Technomancers came out yesterday, which is the launch of my new steampunk romance trilogy! In the meanwhile, Forged Decisions is on sale for 99 cents, right in time to catch up with the Tribal Spirits series before Forged Contracts releases! That’s not the only book up for pre-order! Tales from the Skies and Color of a Soul will be coming out in May and June respectively, but the paperbacks should be available before that. (So I can bring them to COGs in May!)

Line of the week:

Ally’s heart squeezed tight in her chest. Every time she wanted to get pissed at Lana for taking a crowbar and prying open the rusted basement doors she’d stuffed her emotions into she couldn’t. Because truth be told, she’d been dying to speak for far too long. Yet every time she tried to open her mouth, all she could see was the dinner table growing up. When she’d start babbling about her day, about what Susie said in school, the butterfly she drew, and how she’d outrun Dax.

Every time, her mom would let out that sigh, the sort of disappointment that no amount of soap could scrub off. And then would come the comments—that mindless words were better off left in her head, that nobody liked obnoxious kids like her, and the time-worn favorite, her eternal trump card: no wonder dad left.

Scrying for Summer Cover Reveal!

ScryingForSummer.jpg

Scrying for Summer will be coming out this November!

Jev was looking for an adventure, however she wanted the usual variety of stomping out nasty fae in the city as an enforcer of the Philly Coven. Instead, handsome as sin Liam O’Reilly shows up on her doorstep dropping news of the worst organization of fae they’d dealt with on the rise again. Except, he’s a traitor, an asshole, and the absolute last person she wants to work with.

However, the longer they work together, the more the fire between them burns, turning from rage and irritation into something primal. And as she gets to know the real Liam O’Reilly behind the charming smiles and sexy lines, he becomes so much deadlier. Because the protective, self-sacrificing man underneath his facade is just the sort she could fall for.

What story I’m currently working on:

I hit 2k on Forged Redemption, which is picking up speed for me! I’m hoping by next week I’m edging a little closer to my normal stomping pace. I just started Drew’s POV, and it’s going to be as raw and rough as I expected. I’m thrilled to have him as my final hero and Ally as my final leading lady for this series.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Damn, so I knocked out Forged Futures, and will probably have some neeeeews about it soon! What this also means is that the brunt of edits-palooza is over and I get to start writing again! However, there are still some edits on the horizon, as I’m doing some overview edits on Scrying for Summer, Rising for Autumn, and Waking for Winter to turn in to my editor at Soul Mate Publishing. Next on the horizon is Of Tinkers and Technomancers, which goes up for pre-order next week! Oh, also, stay tuned, because The Airship Also Rises will be out in audio book any day now!

Some days, the sheer amount of enemies we attracted made me question if maybe our crew was a little too trigger happy. That maybe we_d started pissing in too many pots without thinking

Line of the week:

For Drew, devastation had become a familiar sight.

During his time in the Landsliders, he’d seen bombs lit, fields razed, and packs ruined. He’d participated in all of it, even as the bile rose in his throat, even as his mind screamed. His hands were stained in so much blood that he could do good works the rest of his life and never scour all of the taint away.

Happy New Year!

Image result for happy new year

Let’s bid 2018 goodbye and set forth into the new year! And I’m planning on kicking some ass in 2019…

Starting with a brand new release, TODAY. Forged Decisions, book two in my Tribal Spirits series comes out today! And if you haven’t checked out the Tribal Spirits series yet, Forged Alliances is on sale for only 99 cents to celebrate!

ForgedDecisions

When Finn falls for Navi, a member of the East Coast Tribe, he’ll have to choose between the pack and family who saved him and the unforgettable woman who’s made her mark.

Ever since Sierra and Dax mated, forming their alliance, Finn has been restless in his position as beta for the Red Rock pack. So, when Navi, the gorgeous, lethal member of the East Coast Tribe, conscripts him to help break up the Landsliders’ drug-running ring, he leaps on the opportunity. As they work together, their attraction deepens to more than comrades and far more than a one-night stand. Except Navi isn’t sticking around town forever and Finn has his own responsibilities tethering him to the Red Rock pack.

When the trail to the drug ring leads them to the man who murdered Finn’s parents, Finn’s forced to confront the fears he’s buried and, in the process, the connection between him and Navi grows scorching and unforgettable. However, with an underground meth lab to bust and his parents’ murderer to take down, Finn throws his heart and soul into the fight, because he knows, even if he survives this, he’ll be forever marked by the goodbyes to follow.

And that’s just the beginning! We’ve got a whole line-up for 2019 already, and that’s not even including books out on submission or in the pipeline. Hope you’re ready to read!

Throwback Thursday: Scrying for Summer

bookpromo66

Yeah, all right, Jev said she was looking for adventure, but she meant the garden variety, like stomping out nasty fae in the city as an enforcer of the Philly Coven. She didn’t mean handsome-as-sin Liam O’Reilly showing with word that the worst organization of fae they’d ever dealt with was on the rise again. She definitely didn’t mean anything to do with Liam O’Reilly–traitor, asshole, and the absolute last person she wanted to work with.

Of course, her life doesn’t tend to give her those kind of choices. So it’s adventure, cliffhanging variety, and the gorgeous asshole. Jev tells herself it’s just work, a mission like any other, but the longer she works with Liam, the more the fire between them burns, turning from rage and irritation into something primal. And as she gets to know the real Liam O’Reilly behind the charming smiles and sexy lines, he becomes so much deadlier. Because the protective, self-sacrificing man underneath his facade is just the sort she could fall for.

Weekly Word Count #141

Word Count: 16,167

What story I’m currently working on:

Well…I FINISHED THE WANDERERS! And now I have a sad, because it’s over and I just loved it so much. This story was just everything to me, and I want to keep living in their world and writing their next adventure ;_; Next on my writing agenda is the fae novella I have due at the end of May, and probably another Cupid’s Cafe story.

What I’m editing/marketing: Come March, I’ll have line edits in abundance, so that is a yay. The Take to the Skies short is finished from the editor, and so that’s ready for submission to the anthology coordinator. So I’ve finally started delving into The Airship Also Rises, because I now have that and Musketeer Pirates to edit. The Wanderers is now out with beta readers and getting feedback! Also, Gaslights and Graves is now available for pre-order! Nab a copy now!

Line of the week:

Riley slumped down beside him on the stoop like he belonged there, as if their friendship hadn’t shattered into a thousand pieces. As his best friend snagged the pack of cigarettes and pulled one out for himself, Cole’s heart began to beat again.
