What story I’m currently working on:

I’m midway through Forged Futures and ramping up to the big twist in the middle. I was rolling really fast on this book, but the last couple of chapters I feel like I’ve been sputtering a bit, so I’m about to get back on track. I’m currently at 30k, so I’ve put a significant dent into this book. To be quite frank, I’ll probably be done it by the end of the month, if not the end of the year, which is hella cool.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I started sending out more submissions for The Lies We Weave, though I’m debating on doing one more editing run through. But most of my focus this week was on Forged Alliances’ release day, which was Tuesday! A little over a year since it was last out, it’s now back with a LOT of fuel behind it. After all, I’ve got the next two already stacked to go, and I’m working on the fourth in the series. I will absolutely be finished the Tribal Spirits series by next year, and that’s pretty awesome. If you haven’t grabbed Bustles and Bells yet, I’d recommend it! An Airship Carol is a super fun caper. Next on the agenda is the pre-order for Forged Decisions on November 20th, which I’m super excited for.

Teaser of the week:

“Except here he crouched before her, all breakable brown eyes, old scars and the shortest temper she’d ever encountered. And unlike every other guy she’d messed around with before, this was the one man she couldn’t s.jpg

Line of the week:

For this single moment, she could exist here with him. For this single moment, she wasn’t a widow, she wasn’t the wife of Greg Bennett. For this single moment, he wasn’t one of the Tribe. For this single moment, he could stay.

Her gaze landed on his lips, but Lucas pulled away first, shattering that fragile, quavering ray they’d clung to. Lana stepped back to grab her coffee, as if the heat from the mug could dispel the way her fingers tingled from mere touch.

“So, taking down Ganzorig?” Lana said before taking a quick sip. Not like she could evade the heat in Lucas’s eyes, or the way her body flushed.

He nodded. “Yeah, we’re taking down the Landsliders.”

Even as their mouths formed different words, Lana recognized them for what they were.

Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye.

What story I’m currently working on:

I finished Hypnotizing Beat! After months and months of pushing it to the back burner! Woo!!!! I did use NaNo fuel to finish it on day one lol, and it ended at 70k. Now that Discord’s Desire #2 is complete, I’m completely charging forward with my Tribal Spirits series. I’m currently at 19k with Forged Futures, and with any luck, I’ll have finished it by the end of the year.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’m doing some fine tune edits on The Lies We Weave still, but I’m pretty light on work in that department at the moment. Instead, I’m looking forward, because it’s going to be release-a-palooza soon! If you haven’t nabbed your copy of Bustles and Bells yet, the steampunk anthology will be available throughout the holiday season. And Forged Alliances comes out in under a week. I’m so excited to have my Tribal Spirits series restart! After that will be Forged Decisions, available to pre-order on November 20th, and then release day on January 1st! (I may have already seen the gorgeous cover)

“I_m more of a documentary kind of gal,” Navi responded.Finn let out a gagging sound. “That_s a thousand times worse.”

“Yeah, no luck in that department for me either,” he responded. “Instead I’ve become King of the One Night Stand.”

Her gaze glimmered as she nudged him in the arm. “Hey, at least you’re getting some.” She tilted her head up to stare at the ceiling. “Even before Greg passed, it had been awhile, and now no one will touch me with a ten foot pole. Apparently being widowed means I also became celibate.”

A deep hunger burned inside him, and his tiger rammed in his chest, a rumble that traveled up and down. His fingers buzzed with the need to skim across her smooth skin, to grip those hips, and he couldn’t stop his tongue from slipping out to wet his lips, suddenly too dry.

Lana’s gaze transfixed on the motion, making him that much more aware that they sat inches apart. Her lips parted, that pristine shade of roses in early morning, the same scent that lingered around her. The need he felt for her grew painful, a tug in his chest, a kick to his libido that had him shifting in his seat. He’d been trying to tamp the lust he felt for her from the moment they’d met, but it grew into a Herculean task when he saw the same flare in those dew-green eyes.

Fuck it.

Lucas leaned in, closing the distance between them. His lips brushed against hers, soft at first, until that sinful breath of relief came from her.

What story I’m currently working on:

Back to a normal pace with the Wanderers story! I’m hoping to hit 60k by the end of today, but I’m currently at 58k, and I’m hoping to potentially finish the novel by next week. CAN I DO IT? Again, hopefully. I’m usually able to binge write a little more readily closer to the end because the finish line is in sight. And damn, this whole thing unfolded just so perfectly. I adore this story!

What I’m editing/marketing: Both Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice are with the line editors now! I’ll be getting both of them in soon, which will be so much fun, and put each of those books that much closer to release day! I’m going to finish editing my Take to the Skies short this week, so I can get it to my editor. I’m almost there, and I’ll be able to reach this deadline just fine. Once I’m finished that, I am switching editing focus solely to The Airship Also Rises, since both of my betas gave their feedback to me. I have a lot of fun releases on the horizon this year! Also, Gaslights and Graves is now available for pre-order! Nab a copy now!

Teaser of the week:

“Because it took a stubborn technomancer willing to risk everything for those she cared about to remind me I was capable of a little daring too.”.jpg

Line of the week:

“Over the river and through the woods.” Bree flashed him a wide grin, her heart racing with the thrill of wandering through the Warrens, nightmare fodder since she was a kid. Anything could pop out at them here, most of it bloodthirsty and wanting them dead. Meaning, she could stab anything that charged their way, and if that didn’t excite her, little did.

“You’re far too chipper for a life-threatening situation.” Jai cast her a glance, even though a hint of a smile tugged at his lips.

What story I’m currently working on: I hit 50k with Airship, but the binge session on Monday left me needing a bit of a break before I keep pushing with that book. I’ve got about 25-30k left to write and I’m going to get back to it next week, with a goal of finishing it by the end of the December! Plus, I’ll be getting to work on Forged Contracts whenever I want! After two back to back months of pushing 50k out each, I’m stoked to kinda scale back to nice and easy. (Until I get all into the end of Airship and end up binge writing that :P)

What I’m editing/marketing: If you haven’t listened to the audio book for An Airship Named Desire, get on it! A Tale of Two Airships is under consideration via ACX, and it will be out within the next couple weeks! In the next couple weeks I’ll probably start on my Musketeer Pirates critiques, since my two betas got back to me on it! As for Forged Decisions, I’m still waiting to hear from my editor, and for Of Tinkers and Technomancers as well as A Reflection of Ice, I’m awaiting my first set of edits!

Line of the week:

Viola approached, her gaze fixed on the horizon. “What’s to bet the tackiest building in the neighborhood belongs to that cur?”

“Not everyone can fancify a joint like you, darling,” I drawled before skipping a pace or two ahead to try and get a better view. “The rest of us are slapping twigs together with glue.”

Geoff slung an arm around my shoulders, drawing me in tight. “And where the hell are you getting glue aboard our ship? You know Edwin doesn’t share supplies.”

What story I’m working on: …what a different a week makes. That Steampunk with a Twist story ended up being the best choice to work on, because I’m already at 12k, which means I’m almost halfway through! The characters are lively, the setting strong and unique, and the story is resonating with me in a marvelous way. I also reached 4k with my YA fantasy project currently written as Musketeer Pirate in my Word doc.

What I’m editing/marketing: I did a broad sweep through for Captivating Melody, but now is time for some nitty gritty and the detailed reworking to rewrite and better this manuscript. Even though it had its flaws, I can say without fail, I still love the story. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, Waking for Winter came out last week!

Teaser of the week:

Line of the week:

The change of pace didn’t bode well for Ellie or his clockwork maid, but Silas had long learned to school his features. He flashed her a smile. “Scared of a little trot across town, Theo? I can understand if it might be too harrowing for a lady like yourself.”

She shot him an acidic glare, the worry stealing away from her features to be replaced by her usual annoyance. Good. He’d rather distract her for the time being.

“If anyone might have difficulty trekking about town, it’d be you in those fashionable shoes, Silas,” Theo shot back. “Did you have to break the backs of five servants to afford those things?”

“Your jealousy is duly noted,” he said, rising to his feet and brushing off his trousers at the knees. He leaned forward, extending a hand. “Now let’s get a move on with hunting down our quarry.”

What story I’m working on: Guys, I’m not the worst! I put a serious dent into Forged Decisions, making my way to 13k! Things started falling into place with me for that story, which is giving me the fortitude to keep moving forward. I also started playing around with a new project, one that will be amazingly interesting, mostly because I’ve never done something like it before. I got 600 words into this story, but I’m going to take my time and really develop the worldbuilding first before throwing myself into it.

What I’m editing/marketing: Welp, beginning of the week I finished editing Outlier Heir, my YA space opera, so now comes the draining, oft horrifying submissions stage! And already, Waking for Winter is coming out next week. EEK. Final Coven Chronicles book release–makes my lil heart twist!

Line of the week:

Navi glanced down to her bare thighs, noticing for the first time that she was wearing his shirt and he currently had those fantastic pecs on full display. With the anger cleared from her headspace at the moment, the lust returned in full force, the close proximity only fueling her fire. “Don’t suppose you’ve got a back entrance to those spares? It’d be a discredit to my surly Tribe image if I’m walking through the place in your shirt.”

A different scent tingled her nose, the strong note of his arousal that made her want to moan on the spot. She didn’t need to glance over to those gym shorts to notice the erection he was packing. Her panther wasn’t resisting the wolfish scent of him either, instead, the bitch was preening inside her chest. Not helping her ignore the tangled web of emotions that she’d rather leave for a rainy day, or never.

“Fiesty thing like you? No one would dare make a comment. Even if my shirt might as well be a dress on you,” he teased, his hazel eyes sparking with amusement.

Navi cracked her knuckles. “You’re playing with fire, babe.”

What story I’m working on: I know, I know, I have failed this city, rounding out the week with 7k on Forged Decisions. I did so much editing this week that there wasn’t much time for anything else. On top of that I’ve been a little aimless. I definitely need a new project to sink my teeth into and get the juices flowing so that I can keep on keeping on with Forged Decisions and The Airship Also Rises.

What I’m editing/marketing: EDITING LIKE A BOSS. SERIOUSLY. I’m in the final round of edits for Outlier Heir, my YA space opera, so woot!! Plus, fiddling around with marketing like a boss, since Waking for Winter’s release is going to come before I’m ready, lol.

Teaser of the week:

Alanna Carrington, head witch of the Philadelphia Coven, hurtled his way, and with her, trouble was a guarantee.

Line of the week:

“What if the owner’s a guy?” Finn teased. “Are you saying you want to flirt with him too?”

“Guy, girl, stick—I don’t care who you flirt with,” she responded. “Just get a pulse on who’s running the operation through their storefront.”

“I feel so used.” Finn smirked as he pulled in front of the general store, cleverly titled just that.
