Word Count: 6,168

What story I’m currently working on: Still moving slower than you’d think given where I am with Forged Decisions, but again, for REASONS! I hit 40k with Forged Decisions, woop woop, so in the upcoming weeks I should be hurtling towards the finish line. I’ll be continuing with Protector of Asgard as well, picking up from where I paused at 9k.

What I’m editing/marketing: With Forged Alliances, I’m now just waiting on line edits! So in the interim, I decided to put a major dent into the Steampunk with a Twist novella…Of Tinkers and Technomancers. And guess what! I finished and sent it in!!! In the interim, I also submitted my Asgard Lounge proposal, the project now titled Protector of Asgard! In case you hadn’t seen the news last week, the Airship Named Desire audio book is now available here!!

Line of the week:

The heat in his voice and the tender way he held her—it was too much. It cracked her wide open, the arctic, remote part of herself that had shut off from ever considering anything like this. The little girl who lost the ability to hope long ago.

What story I’m currently working on: Lol, massive slowdown this week, but due to reasons. I hit 34k on Forged Decisions, which is all sorts of fuck yeah! The story is hitting some bigger scenes, which I’m looking forward to tackling, but I had some super important interruptions. I should be back on track by next week.

What I’m editing/marketing: Well, well, well. My editor and I just pulled out an insane three day editing binge–three weeks of work crammed into that span, but Forged Alliances is ramping up and looking better than ever. My Steampunk with a Twist story is floating along, and I’m down to the last couple passes on it. I decided to start sprucing up an old YA winter fairytale as well, which should be awesome. I also got my critiques back on the first three chapters of my Asgard Lounge story, plus have been tweaking the synopsis and blurb. I will have the proposal package ready to send by next week. On an exciting front, the Airship Named Desire audio book is now available here!! OMG guys, it’s so good.

Teaser of the week:

-As he settled into Park, he winked at her. “Maybe your wolf pups are scared to tangle with a strong woman, but darling, I_d devour you.”

Line of the week:

Finn had tried to gradually fall for Raven over years of affection, touch, and time, but he knew deep in his gut, he’d never brushed the surface of what he should be feeling. However, with Navi, it was no quiet stream or gentle footsteps. He fell for her like the sudden drop of a cliff face, with the fury of the rapids, and with the bone deep awareness that this woman would be branded on his bones for the rest of his life.

What story I’m working on: Well, I’m not quite back to full steam yet, but I’m tippy-toeing forward. Right now I’m balancing two manuscripts–The Airship Also Rises, and Forged Decisions. Forged Decisions is flowing easier at the moment, but the stuff I’ve been writing for the third Airship book is pure awesome. The sort of gems that have my shoulders shaking as I’m writing them.

What I’m editing/marketing:Well, Waking for Winter is all ready to launch, so I’m just trying to set up reviewers and marketing stuff for my release day! I’m pretty excited to share Dante and Cami with everyone, as well as bring that series to a close. I’m starting to get some feedback in on Future King, and I put some major time into working on a query this week. As for Cupid’s Cafe, I’m only waiting on a couple more responses, bu I actually have most of the edits finished. I should probably be able to submit it by next week. Part of what’s slowing me down so much is starting two projects simultaneously while I have two editing projects winding down–I need to get at least one of these off the burner!

Line of the week:

A shot rang through the air, coming from beside me. My jaw twitched.

Sabine stood with her pistol aimed and her finger still on the trigger. Those manicured brows were pulled together in fierce concentration.

“Damnit, Sabine,” I hissed, shooting her a look. “What happened to following my lead?”

She stared back at me with a familiar brand of insolence in those hazel eyes all while feigning innocence. “My finger slipped.”

My blood boiled, and I near had a conniption on the spot. A thousand curses on girls with smart mouths and access to firepower.

2017 Mid-Year Review

Well hell, is it already the halfway point?

Thus far, 2017 has seen the release of Rising for Autumn back in February, and in July, book 4, Waking for Winter will come out with Loose Id. What does that mean? It means my final Philadelphia Coven Chronicles book will release!

This time last year, I was prepping the second Take to the Skies book, and I’m happy to say I just started writing the third and final, so you can probably look to the horizon for that release next year.

On the writing front, I’ve kept busy. I have a YA space opera project I’ve been jamming away at, as well as a shifter series in the works. I just sent the first novel in the series to publishers, so fingers crossed–you may get Forged Alliances and the start of a fun new series before the end of 2017!

I also entered into the foray of contemporary romance with a novella that I’m preparing to submit–Captured Memories. This was a super intense story for me, and I’m hoping you all love Zane and Liv’s story as much as I do.

So what do you have to look forward to the rest of 2017? More releases from me, of course, and I hope more announcements of future books for you to read. If you’re an audiobook fan, An Airship Named Desire will be available in audiobook later in the year, an the voice actress is hella talented.

I’ve been jamming this year full of projects that I can’t wait to share with you, ones that include the strong, capable females I write, plenty of snark, complicated men, and stories that represent real problems. For those who have stuck with me so far and continue to do so, thank you a thousand times over–I write these stories for you ❤
