What story I’m currently working on:

Even though I’m only at 10k with Forged Redemption, I’m another thousand words closer to my normal weekly pace, and I’m hoping to really step it up the rest of February. A lot of the book is already crystallizing in my head, so I’m excited to really sink into it and start feeling along with the characters. I’m really freaking excited to finish the Tribal Spirits series, but also a little sad, considering this wild ride started just two years ago when I was writing this piece in response to a call for shifter stories.

What I’m editing/marketing:

So, not only was Forged Futures contracted but I’m already neck deep in content edits! And I’ve got some more news on the horizon too, so stay tuned. I did turn in the initial Scrying for Summer edits and launched into the Rising for Autumn ones, and I’m hoping by March at least this editing fervor has died down and gives me more time to write. If you haven’t gotten it yet, pre-order Of Tinkers and Technomancers, which comes out March 12th! And if you’re an audio book fan, you can get the entire Take to the Skies series on audio book now that The Airship Also Rises is out!

Teaser of the week:

He didn_t know what he searched for out there in all the blue. Maybe the faintest glimmer of hope, like the sun gliding off the rippling surface of the lake.(1)

Line of the week:

Ally let out a low whistle. “When did you become more than just a pretty face?”

“Let’s be real, I’m not much without my looks,” Drew drawled in response. “I blame Lucas and his band of Tribe for all this planning ahead nonsense.”

“Sure, all that bad Tribe influence,” Ally shot back. “Just like the Boy Scouts are out to corrupt wayward kids into learning discipline.”

Drew pumped on the gas, speeding up to catch up with the car they were tailing. All the dips in the road made it that much harder to keep track of. “Hey, we start teaching kids discipline and the next thing you’ll have is upstanding citizens. No one wants that. Chaos and malarkey for all.”

“Malarkey? What are you, eighty?” Ally cracked the window as she leaned her arm out the side. Her golden hair streamed in the breeze, silken strands he longed to run his fingers through. Spirits above, every inch of her body was pure temptation for him.

“Yep. Mackey better watch out, because I’m coming for him, walker and all.”

What story I’m currently working on:

I hit 2k on Forged Redemption, which is picking up speed for me! I’m hoping by next week I’m edging a little closer to my normal stomping pace. I just started Drew’s POV, and it’s going to be as raw and rough as I expected. I’m thrilled to have him as my final hero and Ally as my final leading lady for this series.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Damn, so I knocked out Forged Futures, and will probably have some neeeeews about it soon! What this also means is that the brunt of edits-palooza is over and I get to start writing again! However, there are still some edits on the horizon, as I’m doing some overview edits on Scrying for Summer, Rising for Autumn, and Waking for Winter to turn in to my editor at Soul Mate Publishing. Next on the horizon is Of Tinkers and Technomancers, which goes up for pre-order next week! Oh, also, stay tuned, because The Airship Also Rises will be out in audio book any day now!

Teaser of the week:

Some days, the sheer amount of enemies we attracted made me question if maybe our crew was a little too trigger happy. That maybe we_d started pissing in too many pots without thinking

Line of the week:

For Drew, devastation had become a familiar sight.

During his time in the Landsliders, he’d seen bombs lit, fields razed, and packs ruined. He’d participated in all of it, even as the bile rose in his throat, even as his mind screamed. His hands were stained in so much blood that he could do good works the rest of his life and never scour all of the taint away.

What story I’m currently working on:

I’m a whopping 1k into Forged Redemption, but the book is probably going to pick up steam next week. Ally and Drew are going to be absolutely ridiculous, and I think they ended up being the perfect couple for the finale of this series, one that’s a little reflective of the first book, Forged Alliances (at least on the bickering front).

What I’m editing/marketing:

I mean, essentially waiting on everything at the moment. Taking Root and Hypnotizing Beat are both on submission, so I’m putting pedal to the metal on my shifter series to get that finished this year! Kicked off this new year with the release of Forged Decisions and then in a couple of months, Forged Contracts will be available! I’m down to the final two passes on Forged Futures, so I’m hoping to get that done before the end of the month so I can return to writing full force. Don’t miss out on both the sale of Forged Alliances at 99 cents though, and the steampunk antho, Bustles and Bells which is coming down in ten days!

Drew didn’t need to tilt his aviators up for her to feel the intensity of that gaze flashing his way. “Williams is what folks called the old man.” He tipped his glasses down on his nose, passing her a scorching look. “I prefer babe, darling, light of my life. Sir, if you’re feeling kinky.”

“You’ll be called dipshit next if you keep at it,” Ally shot back.

Grab your copy for FREE for the next couple of days!

One man has swiped bounties from Viola, the Brass Violet, for years. Longstanding rivals, they’ve only had brief encounters, and if she had a choice, she’d avoid him entirely. When he saunters into her bar with an offer to work together on a job, the proper response would be to shoot him down and send him back to Shantytown. However, curiosity’s a wicked beast, and Viola needs to know why, after so many years of stealing her marks, he’d approach her now.

The man is insufferable, annoyingly cavalier, and tends to stir up memories she’d rather forget–but she needs assistance on this job and he’s offering aid and blueprints which could cut their work in half.

Given the intense way he looks at her though, working together isn’t all he has in mind. Van Clef is known for his persistence and, with his charm, he wins women over effortlessly. Viola’s not so easy though–she’s wise to his tricks. But if he wants to play the game, she will gladly rise to the challenge. By the end of this bounty, she’ll be the one leaving him in the dust.

Thanks for being awesome.

Grab a copy of the first Take to the Skies book for only 99 cents!

Airships, sky-pirates, smugglers, and soldiers…An Airship Named Desire will take you for a thrilling ride.

Ever since their last botched smuggling job, First Mate Bea and the crew of her airship can barely afford fuel, let alone a barrel of grog. So when a gentleman from Old Germany offers them a fortune to steal a locked box from a British merchant airship, they jump on the opportunity. However, their employer forgot to mention the box’s military escort and the Morlock mercenaries who would slit throats to get their hands on it. Oh, and if made public, the contents could engulf Europe in another devastating war.

Stealing the box was the easy part. Now, with a target on their back and some of the toughest characters in the skies after them, if the crew of the Desire doesn’t polish their pistols and prepare for a hell of a fight, they’ll end up worse than grounded. After all, everyone from the Brits to the Morlocks will kill for the contents of that box, and no one survives an airship crash.
