What story I’m currently working on:

Well, I’m at 19k in Tempting Ballad, and 2k on my Paranormal Western. Damn, I think I’m starting to get back to my old pace! I’ve been doing so much editing for the past month that I’ve barely put new words down, and I definitely missed it. However, writing is a reflex, and after so long of not writing, the reflex was taking awhile to kick back in. Renn and Kincaid are an interesting pair, and the Paranormal Western has been percolating in my brain for awhile, even though I’m not sure where I’m going to take it.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Still living that waiting life, lol. However, now that I don’t have long, extensive editing projects, I’m able to switch to the rewritey edits I was mid-stride on for Outlier Heir. I’m taking it as an exercise to see how far I can develop the old story. I think it still has a lot of promise, and I don’t want to let it just rot in purgatory, but given a few years distance, I can see a lot of the flaws waiting to be fixed. The final Tribal Spirits book, Forged Redemption, comes out October 1st, but there will also be two re-releases in November: Captured Memories (Cupid’s Cafe #3) and Scrying for Summer (Philadelphia Coven Chronicles #2)

Renn stuffed his trash into the can and strode over to where Kincaid was still picking at his asparagus. He leaned down and wrapped his hands around the take-out container. “I’ve got this.”

“What’s saying I’m finished?” Kincaid asked, his tone amused.

“I am,” Renn growled. He almost flung the container onto the desk before he strode back up to Kincaid and closed the space between them. He wrapped his hands around Kincaid’s neck and planted his lips onto the man’s.

What story I’m currently working on:

Tried to write at least a LITTLE this week even with all of the other stuff going on. I hit a little past 8k with Tempting Ballad and am going to keep pacing forward with it. Even though I’ve got no idea where this story is going to take me, I’ve got a couple players in place to toy around with, and the boys have been bantering like fiends. They’re so much freaking fun.

What I’m editing/marketing:

THE WAITING THE WAITING THE WAITING. On the submission front at least. I’m going to keep working on Pomegranate’s Kiss, because I’m actually into the final rounds of edits on it, though I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the month. If not, that’s okay, because I’ve got a class to teach starting next week that is going to take up some extra time, so I’m cutting myself the slack. The next release on the horizon though is in October…Forged Redemption.

“Because it took a stubborn technomancer willing to risk everything for those she cared about to remind me I was capable of a little daring too.”

His mouth collided with Renn’s at a bruising force. His fingers threaded through Renn’s hair and he tugged, his grip tightening. His other hand slipped beneath the fabric of his shirt to feel those washboard abs. Renn tasted like whiskey and blood and he couldn’t get enough. He trailed his fingers down that chest to cup Renn’s cock, the sizeable erection straining the seams of his jeans. Kincaid already got hard the moment this man walked through the door.

Renn kissed like an attack, with teeth, with force, with an inherent wildness that was utterly real.

What story I’m currently working on:

Dipping my little toe back into getting words on paper. I hit 7k with Tempting Ballad, and I’m going to keep working on that right now. It’s going to take me a little bit to find my groove with the book, especially because Discord’s Desire requires figuring out the fae politicking end of things etc etc, but Renn’s voice comes across really strong, and I feel confident that this will be a super fun book.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Now I’ve got two projects out on submission, so it’s all sorts of the waiting game right now. In the interim, I’m trucking through the edits for Pomegranate’s Kiss, which I’m hoping to finish before the end of the month! And I’m currently working on the content for the class too, so there’s that. I also have a necessary round of edits on Scrying for Summer, which comes out in November, but the next release on the horizon is in October…Forged Redemption.

“She was no better than the shells by her feet, tumbling this way and that at the beck and call of the waves.”(1)

Line of the week:

“Come on, Conspiracy Kid, don’t you have anything to say?” Clyde continued. “Any new theories to share?”

Oh hell no.

Conspiracy Kid was the nickname that haunted him after Belle disappeared, because he was the only person in the family who seemed to give a fuck. Mom and Dad told him to keep quiet, and his cousins? Well, they were merciless.

“Didn’t take you for a masochist,” Renn said, his fingers tapping on the tabletop. “That’s more my thing. Yet here you are begging for a beating.”

The irritation had been simmering through his veins from the moment they hit the East Coast until it reached a slow, undulating boil. This place and that ugly mug brought those memories rushing to the fore.

Renn stood from his seat. When he turned to face Clyde, he led with his knuckles first.

What story I’m currently working on:

So, I was going to dive back into Tempting Ballad, I swear. Those teeny tiny hundred words were for that book. However, I got in a revise and resubmit for an old manuscript, and so I was busy in deep editing and rewriting mode, which takes a LOT. Chances are, it’s probably going to consume most of my time for the next few weeks, and I’m 100% okay with that. I loved this story to pieces, and it’s worth the effort.

What I’m editing/marketing:

With Thief’s Crusade out on submission, I can place my full attention on A Card of Shadows, which I wrote last year and am now rewriting like crazy. I loved that manuscript with a ferocious passion, the world, the characters, everything. I still have a class to continue writing, so I’m going to need to divert work into that, and I started doing some casual edits on Pomegranate’s Kiss when I couldn’t focus. Mid-July saw the release of both Taking Root, the first book in the Eros Tales series, and then Hunting for Spring‘s re-release, the first book in the Philadelphia Coven Chronicles series! Next on the horizon is in October…Forged Redemption.

“Raven moaned at the sensations ripping through her, like the first splash of color on a monochrome canvas.”(2)

Line of the week:

“Not coincidence,” was all Maeve said, which didn’t help in the slightest. What made things worse is that Bree agreed, and Bree made a point to disagree with her sister any chance she got. But the truth was as brazen as this autumn air. Mom hadn’t come home, and a wraith prowled through their neighborhood. Growing up among the Wanderers taught you early on that everything was connected, from stubbing your toe on the kitchen table to finding out a rash of murders spread across Philly in the same morning. Bree was a firm believer, and right now, the belief settled in her gut like the fight she’d had with Mom.
