What story I’m currently working on:

So, I was going to dive back into Tempting Ballad, I swear. Those teeny tiny hundred words were for that book. However, I got in a revise and resubmit for an old manuscript, and so I was busy in deep editing and rewriting mode, which takes a LOT. Chances are, it’s probably going to consume most of my time for the next few weeks, and I’m 100% okay with that. I loved this story to pieces, and it’s worth the effort.

What I’m editing/marketing:

With Thief’s Crusade out on submission, I can place my full attention on A Card of Shadows, which I wrote last year and am now rewriting like crazy. I loved that manuscript with a ferocious passion, the world, the characters, everything. I still have a class to continue writing, so I’m going to need to divert work into that, and I started doing some casual edits on Pomegranate’s Kiss when I couldn’t focus. Mid-July saw the release of both Taking Root, the first book in the Eros Tales series, and then Hunting for Spring‘s re-release, the first book in the Philadelphia Coven Chronicles series! Next on the horizon is in October…Forged Redemption.

Teaser of the week:

“Raven moaned at the sensations ripping through her, like the first splash of color on a monochrome canvas.”(2)

Line of the week:

“Not coincidence,” was all Maeve said, which didn’t help in the slightest. What made things worse is that Bree agreed, and Bree made a point to disagree with her sister any chance she got. But the truth was as brazen as this autumn air. Mom hadn’t come home, and a wraith prowled through their neighborhood. Growing up among the Wanderers taught you early on that everything was connected, from stubbing your toe on the kitchen table to finding out a rash of murders spread across Philly in the same morning. Bree was a firm believer, and right now, the belief settled in her gut like the fight she’d had with Mom.

What story I’m currently working on:

Closer to a normal pace now!!! I hit 27k and I’m hoping to hit 30k before the end of the week in Forged Redemption! I’m determined to at least get to 50k on it by the end of March. The story is hitting some of the big stuff now–I feel like a lot of things are hitting hard early, but it’s also the final book in the series and I have a lot of loose ends that need wrapping up on top of needing to reach that tip over with Ally and Drew’s relationship where they get less fighty and more healey. (Professional terms, guys.)

What I’m editing/marketing:

I finished editing Rising for Autumn, woop woop! And I already launched into Waking for Winter, so I’ll be plowing through those edits! As for marketing, there’s a lot on the horizon. Not only is Forged Decisions on sale for 99 cents, but The Airship Also Rises is as well! And Of Tinkers and Technomancers comes out in less than a week, which is perfect, because then I can focus on Forged Contracts, which is available for pre-order! The beginning half of this year is going to be intense. Almost forgot…Tales from the Skies, my steampunk anthology is up for pre-order!

Teaser of the week:

“Rare stories traveled of those who rose too high, the ships who sailed like Icarus towards the sun.And like him, they crashed and burned for their arrogance.”(1)

Line of the week:

“Well now, is that an admission of defeat, Ally-cat?” he drawled. “Color me shocked.” When everyone else called her that name, it was endearing, sweet. On Drew’s lips, it was pure seduction.

Ally licked her lips, grasping at the distraction he offered. “You wish, boy wonder. You want to fight over the bed, I’ll go to battle any time.”

Drew crooked a brow, his grin growing wider, the cocky shit. “I’ll gladly take you up on that. Name the time and place, and I’ll bring the champagne, babe.”

“Unless you want the bottle cracked over your head, leave it at home,” Ally shot back, pouring all of herself into this conversation.

What story I’m currently working on:

So, my pace has slowed, but for good reason. I finished up writing the LGBT heist proposal, and still managed to get a little work done on Forged Redemption, bringing me up to 14k. Once this proposal is turned in, I’m back to placing my full attention on Forged Redemption, and I think I know where everything’s going to go. My god though, it’s been a crazy February. Once I finish Forged Redemption (estimated by April/May), I’m most likely launching into finishing the Narnia Club book.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Lor, it was a week for editing on the fly! I finished the Narnia Club proposal and turned it in, and then finished writing the LGBT heist, so it’s edits time.  I’m continuing to make plodding pace with the Rising for Autumn edits too. Luckily I’m in the last leg of those, and after that it’s just Waking for Winter. Once I get my final proposal turned in, I’m switching my attention to Of Tinkers and Technomancers release, which comes out March 12th! And I’ll soon have news on the way about a Tales for the Skies compendium of shorts from my Take to the Skies universe.

Teaser of the week:

“Hope you enjoy the show then, darling.” Heat flickered in his amber eyes, and his lowered voice made the implication quite clear.

Line of the week:

“He was a sweet kid who didn’t deserve that sort of hell,” Drew murmured against her neck. His words made her want to sob, for him, for…

“Do you ever wonder?” he continued, his voice a hoarse scrape. “What ours would’ve been like?”

Even after years had passed, Ally couldn’t voice the answer out loud. The words stuck in her throat, and the chasm in her chest throbbed anew. Drew simply hugged her tight to him, because he understood.

Every damn day.

What story I’m currently working on:

Slowly getting back into the swing of things, but for good reason. Even still, I got some wordage in on Hypnotizing Beat, and I’m thinking I may try to ride this book out to its conclusion rather than sidestepping back to shifter land. As much as I love my shifters, the rockstar fae boys need some love too. Besides, the more I get back into the swing of things with Discord’s Desire, the more I remember the characters and feel of the book.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I leapt way far ahead with The Lies We Weave, finishing my rewrite, as well as the added scenes I needed to write in. I thought it would take forever, but it just took a couple super intense days of work. And I’m not going to lie, I felt iffy about this book before, but now I’m smitten. The dialogue leaps off the page, the characters are interesting, and the story resonates. Here’s to hoping. And as for new releases, you can look forward to Bustles and Bells later in the year, and Forged Alliances will actually go up for pre-order at the end of November!

Teaser of the week:

_Each step forward offered a better view of the crystal walls ahead, the castle appearing like something out of a fairytale._

Line of the week:

The moment she stepped into Kink and Candy, the AC slapped her in the face and she liked it. At once, the sweat started drying like paste across her skin, a fierce reminder to future Danica that a shower was essential tonight. Melrose stalked through the maze of stacked chairs and tables across the floor, heading towards the stage. The woman moved with preternatural grace, but it was anyone’s guess as to why a water nymph would take up residence in the desert. Regardless, Melrose ran a tight ship, and Danica trusted her in the business capacity—which is where she placed everyone.

All except one person.

Lenora hopped off the stage she’d been perched upon and raced over to her, a hurricane in heels.

What story I’m currently working on:

Forged Contracts is MOVING along! I might be a smidge behind because there was a lot going on last week and will be a lot going on this week, but I’m still pushing forward with it. Last week I thought that this book would be 60k, but since I’m currently at 55k and there’s a significant amount of stuff that still needs to happen, I’m thinking it’s going to be closer to 65k, which is great. The book has a lot going on, esp emotional stuff to unpack, so I think it’s good for it to have more room to breathe.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Currently, I’m still slugging away at Musketeer Pirates. I will finish that book before the end of the year, even if it kills me. It just might. The Airship Also Rises comes out TOMORROW, which marks the end of my Take to the Skies series. I’m thrilled, but also sad. It’s a bittersweet thing, since An Airship Named Desire was the first book ever published for me. Right now though, the entire series is available for under 5 bucks, so yay!

Line of the week:

A knock sounded on the door.

“Who the hell is knocking on my door this time of day?” Jer muttered, running a hand through his curls.

Raven snorted. “You mean lunchtime? Because I’m pretty sure it’s lunch time. Might want to throw a shirt on, stud.” Her fingers trailed down his chest before she snapped them away and headed for the door.

Jer couldn’t help the grin that rose to his lips as he stalked over to his bedroom and snagged a wrinkled shirt from the floor.

What story I’m currently working on:

Well now, I thought I’d have a ton of time before even blinking at Taking Root again, but my beta readers are awesome and gave me critiques yesterday, so I’m real tempted to dive back in. I’m slowly creeping back into Hypnotizing Beat, hitting 8k, so I’m gonna have to really start diving into the universe again! Just recently got updates on Captivating Melody, not only the GORGEOUS cover, but also that it’ll be releasing in July! I also got 1k into the Airship Christmas short due in October. I figured get the small things off my plate quick.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’ll have some news for you guys by next week, so sit tight! In the interim, I’ve launched full force into a large-scale edit of Musketeer Pirates. I’m going to take my time with this one and really make sure it shines. Hands down, it’s the most intensive fantasy worldbuilding I’ve ever done. If you’re waiting for Colors of a Soul, my Little Mermaid retelling, pre-order Legends of the Veil!

Line of the week:

“The two of you seem ready enough to stomp through town,” I called over, announcing myself before the loud slap of my boots did.

Isabella arched a brow. “I prefer a quiet stroll, at best.”

“There’ll be nothing quiet if this one is involved,” Mordecai muttered. For such a short time on our ship, he blended like he’d been here a decade.

“Hey now, all I’m looking for is a peaceful holiday, free from jobs, Morlocks, and captaining. It’s not my fault trouble trails in my tailwinds.”

What story I’m currently working on:

Closing in on the end of Taking Root at 49k. It’s a wild ride, and I’m down to the final chapters, so I’m going to guarantee that I’ll be finished this book by the next update! I love the race to the end once you get to a certain point in a story–it’s like crack for me. Once I finish Taking Root, I’ll be switching over to Hypnotizing Beat in full force, and I started tweaking around with the playlist to get all geared up for it.

What I’m editing/marketing:

The waiting, the waiting, the WAAAAAITING. So, not only am I trying to rehome Philly Coven Chronicles and Tribal Spirits, but we’re also rehoming Cupid’s Cafe. A lot of my books are pulled at the moment and ouch, it hurts. Cross fingers and send positive vibes that I get some good news soon! I finished Colors of a Soul, the title of the fae novella for Legends of the Veil, and then I sent it off to the editor! I’m stoked to have another thing off my plate, and because of that I was able to dive back into Musketeer Pirates! EEEE! Also, not only is Gaslights and Graves out, but now Legends of the Veil is available for pre-order!

Teaser of the week:

Candace brandished a pint glass at the ready. Ale could soothe most of these ruffians, and she_d become adept at taming tempers.

Line of the week:

“Three?” he leaned forward. “Please don’t tell me you enjoyed the third Terminator movie.”

“First my electronica and now T3?” Danny splayed her hand over her chest in mock horror. “How are we together again?”

Adrian shrugged, popping a piece of General Tso’s into his mouth. “I figured you only wanted me for my body.”
