Forged Alliances Release Day!

ForgedAlliances_PromoSquareTB_outnow

So much can change in a year. Around this time last year, Forged Alliances had just come out with Loose Id, and I was full of excitement to be pushing forward on a brand new series. And then….December hit, and Loose Id announced their closure. While my second book was on submission, of course. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t devastate me. I loved working with that publisher, and I was so sad to see them go. On top of that, since the official closure wouldn’t hit until June, I wasn’t about to go and write the third book until I found a new home for them.

So, I waited.

I expected it to be a long time until I could find a home for this series, however, Totally Bound happened to open up submissions in June, and I leapt on the opportunity. I had long been interested in that publisher, but they’d been closed. In a sweep of serendipity, I submitted Forged Alliances, and it got accepted. At once, I dove into book three again, desperate to dive back into this world. I am so in love with these shifters and this series, and I’m so thrilled to bring them back to you with book one, Forged Alliances.

Sierra Kanoska fought hard for her position as wolf alpha of the Red Rock pack, and intruders in her territory receive the full brunt of what her claws, fangs and smarts can accomplish. So, when Dax Williams, de facto alpha of the Silver Springs pack, pays an unwelcome visit, Sierra’s ready to toss him out. However, the pack elders sabotaged Dax’s fight for alpha against his brother, driving him from his lands. Sierra hates underhanded crap like that, so she agrees on an alliance.

As they work together, she witnesses an alpha who wants to do right by his pack, not just a cocky wiseass. Their growing attraction blazes hot, but the moment she and Dax lock lips, a mating bond emerges. Sierra sure as hell isn’t ready to share that intimate connection with a stranger and the thought of forever sends Dax running.

Before they can talk, the Tribe commanding the East Coast shifters arrives to settle the dispute. Dax and his brother’s punishment for their pack’s civil war is a free-for-all on their lands. Not only does he have to defeat his brother, but any challenger in the region. Despite Dax and Sierra’s initial resistance, his wily charm relaxes her control-freak tendencies while her steadfast support bolsters his strength. Yet every new opponent places their newfound relationship under siege—one misstep, one wrong blow in the ring, and Dax could leave in a bodybag.

Music Monday- Forged Alliances

Getting my Music Monday on with the release of Forged Alliances tomorrow!

1. I Don’t Wanna Live Forever- ZAYN/Taylor Swift

This song had a kinda sexy vibe to it which worked for the scorching chemistry between Dax and Sierra. Even though Sierra’s all blunt edges, stubbornness, and flames, Dax was lazy seduction with a cocky confidence that worked so well with her.

2. Friction- Imagine Dragons

This book had a lot of shifter fights involved, and this was my favorite song to play when I was working on the challenger fights. It has an intense beat and a pulse-pounding intensity that got me in the right mindset.

3. Begging for Thread- Banks

Another sensual song, this one worked perfectly for the sex scenes later on. As Dax and Sierra get to know each other more and more, their chemistry becomes explosive and undeniable, which the inexorable seduction of this melody highlighted.

4. Wolves- Selena Gomez

How could I not have this song on the playlist? Since this was the kick-off of my shifter series, I had to include this one, for the energetic beat and the lyrics.

5. Revolution- The Score

I especially loved the line ‘all my wolves begin to howl’ because within seconds of starting this series, they were ‘my wolves’ and ‘my mountain lions’. I fell hard for the Red Rock and Silver Spring packs, and the energy in this song made it perfect for big scenes between the packs.

What’s your next project on the horizon: The fourth book in the Tribal Spirits series! Book two, Forged Decisions is coming out January 1st, and book three, Forged Contracts, is coming out May 21st!

Weekly Word Count #171

Word Count: 5007

What story I’m currently working on:

Slow and steady! I’ve been pushing forward with Hypnotizing Beat, but I also got sidetracked the past couple of days with edits, so that put heavy writing days on the backburner. However, I did hit my goal of 30k in Hypnotizing Beat. I will finish this book by the end of the year, I swears it. I’m hoping to at least hit 60k with this book in October, if not complete it. If I don’t complete it next month, then I’m going to be finishing it in November to kickstart NaNoWriMo.

What I’m editing/marketing:

So, the reason I slacked harder on writing Hypnotizing Beat was because I started burning through edits on Forged Contracts…to the point that I finished them last night and sent in the submission. Fingers crossed for some good news, guys! Now that I have that edit out of the way, I can focus most of my editing mojo on The Lies We Weave, which I’m determined to finish this year. I’m super excited for next week, since the pre-order for Forged Alliances goes live!!! I absolutely can’t wait to relaunch this series!

Wistful notes spoke of loneliness, as solitary as the final birdsong of autumn or the trill of summer_s last cicada before the wintry freeze.

Line of the week:

Danica slipped beside him, craning forward to peer into the water. “So, what’s your guess, guitar boy? Think it’s in the middle of this muck? I’m happy to go splashing in the kiddie pool after the dive through Shark Central Station.”

Trevor lifted a brow. “I’ve been relegated to guitar boy now?” He couldn’t help the grin that rose to his lips. He’d love to chalk it up to her leannan sidhe charm, but he’d met plenty. Danica had an effortless ability to make him laugh, her brand of sharp wit and weird something he doubted he’d ever tire of.

“Yep,” she responded. “Better pull out the stops to wow me if you want a bump up on the nickname list.” Danica gripped the golden stones framing the pond as if she prepared to launch into the water.

Music Mondays- Caden

Guys, Music Monday is BACK! Today we have TL Reeve and Michele Ryan to discuss their upcoming release: Caden: Apache County Shifters!
Wolves – Selena Gomez
It’s a given I think. Michele picked it out, though. It fits the way things started with Caden and Danielle, and then in one action, everything was destroyed. Now, it’s all about their trials to get back to one another.
What about us – P!nk
Again, Michele picked this one. (She’s got great taste in music) – It’s all about promises Caden and Danielle whispered to each other in the dark. All the promises Caden broke. The betrayal and the hurt caused by one man’s dark past, and about his pain and loss.
Too Good at Goodbyes – Sam Smith
I picked this one. It fits the story because Danielle has spend her life walking away. She can do it at a drop of a hat and now with how things have been destroyed with Caden, she’s willing to walk away and there is no emotion left there to even care that she’s walking away from the best thing in her life.
Perfect – Ed Sheeran
Again, Michele picked this song. Caden finds Danielle perfect. Yes, he’s done some messed up things, and yes he’s betrayed her beyond what he believes he can every be forgiven for, but he also wants her to know, no matter what, she is perfect. She did nothing wrong.
Just Like Heaven – The Cure
I picked this one. Who doesn’t like The Cure? This song represents the healing and love Caden and Danielle have for each other. Once they let each other in and once they fix the things that tore them apart, Danielle and Caden realize, this is where they were supposed to be all along.
What’s next on the horizon: Michele and I are currently working on Unbreakable – Book One of our Leaving the Past Behind series. We’re anxious to get this one out, because it is the continuation of Nico and Hayden’s story. We know you guys are going to love it.
Where can readers find you?

COVER_Reeves_Ryan_APS_2_CadenMD.jpg

Caden Raferty messed up—big time. He’s turned his back on his family and friends, but most of all his mate, Danielle Blueriver.

Danielle is done with love and done with Caden. After two near death experiences, she’s regressed into herself not wanting to be seen or heard. Her life is crumbling down around her and the only thing giving her the will to live are her boys, Aiden and Nicolas.

But, an old foe isn’t done with either of them and once again, they are thrust together in a situation neither can get out of.

Can Danielle and Caden find their path to happiness this time, or will the sins of their past destroy their future?
