What story I’m currently working on:

Aaaaand the words keep flowing. I’m keeping decent pace, since I just reached 47k on the first book in the Dungeons and Dating series. I’m definitely teetering closer to the finish line, but there’s still quite a bit left to write. We’ll see. If I’m really feeling the scenes, I may finish the book next week, but that’s dependent on how long certain things take to write out, etc. I’d like this book to be 65-70k, but my romances tend to end up around 60k, so I’m not sure how the chips will fall.

What I’m editing/marketing:

I’ve slowed down on the edits for Outlier Heir, because I’m also reviewing the audio files for Color of a Soul this week. Hopefully that will be coming out over the next few weeks! Yay new audio book! I also just got the ARC for Scrying for Summer in, which means that it’ll be up for pre-order on Amazon any day now! The other book on pre-order that’s coming out a day earlier is Captured Memories. If somehow you missed out on my bold and beautiful Tribal Spirits series, check out Forged Alliances, the first book in the series, for only 99 cents!

Teaser of the week:

He didn_t know what he searched for out there in all the blue. Maybe the faintest glimmer of hope, like the sun gliding off the rippling surface of the lake.(3)

Line of the week:

Lilah and Rose sat with Tabby at the opposite end of the bar. Roxie strode in their direction. A woman at the bar was giving her the eye, furtive glances followed by a delicate sip from whatever pink drink she was nursing. Roxie bobbed her head in a nod as she passed by, not wanting to be rude. She wasn’t in the mood for a random hookup or one-night stand though.

She wanted something real.

She wanted Mel Roberts.

What story I’m currently working on: Continuing on the YA fantasy novel, since I’m trying to complete my goal of finishing it by the end of October. Which means I’m setting a really aggressive pace of close to 2,000 words a day, with some exceptions. On the plus, I rocketed ahead to 51k, so I’m definitely making strides. I’ve passed the halfway point of the novel, where shit is really starting to reach a crescendo. I think it’s going to be the action-y stuff coming up soon, which should be intense.

What I’m editing/marketing: Forged Alliances came out three weeks ago and already I’m gunning ahead on the next one. Captured Memories comes out next Tuesday, and it’s already available for pre-order here! After that release, I can gasp for breath for a little while, because it’ll be a couple months before Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice come out! Seriously though, all of my crazy writing this year has paid off! My beta-readers got back to me for Forged Decisions and I’m working on that at a slow but steady pace. I’m hoping to get that accepted before the end of 2017!

Line of the week:

“You need to leave,” Katerina spat, unable to hold back the tides any more. Staring at Fiona, the guilt and anger on the face that had once beamed with affection, it hurt. She hurt. She hurt worse than the nights she’d curled in her cot as a servant, muscles aching, wounds stinging from the lumps she’d taken. This sort of pain, this was standing in front of the stones marking the mounds of dirt that her parents had been buried under. Of speaking aloud to those graves year after year, and only getting the empty whistle of the wind as a response.

What story I’m currently working on: I slowed down a little this week on my YA fantasy heist story, as I’m only at 28k, but that was for legitimate reasons as you’ll see in the next section. However, the plot is unfolding pretty quickly, and I think by the end of September, I’ll have hit 30k–that’s something you can hold me to. I’m planning on finishing this book by November, and I think it’s quite do-able.

What I’m editing/marketing: Forged Alliances came out last week! On top of that, I finished my lines for Captured Memories, which is coming out October 17th!! (what, what!) But guys, shit is about to get ridiculous. Because I spent most of last week pounding out A Reflection of Ice for submission—and it got contracted with Opal Moon Press!!! Between that book and Of Tinkers and Technomancers, I already have new releases lined up for 2018! Plus, I’ll have the second Tribal Spirits book to my editor before the year end, so maybe I can hit a record breaking six contracts this year! On the marketing front, An Airship Named Desire is currently 99 cents!!

“How long have you known?” she asked, the realization sinking in through her skin that Lorne Drachen hid a lot behind a handsome face and a sinner’s smile.

What story I’m working on: I see the end in sight for Future King even though I’m at 50k in the story! There are a couple twists and turns I need to suss out, but for the most part I can see the direction I want to take this clearly. What I’m excited about is that I’m getting to THE scene, the one that’s burned through me from the beginning of the book. Usually a romancey hookup scene, tbh. It tides me through all the slow burn, the thought of the awesome scene that’ll unfold later on.

What I’m editing/marketing: I got most of my beta reads back on Forged Alliances, so I’m doing massive edits on it. So far, it’s looking like I’ll be finished them in a week or two–they’re definitely doable things. I’m super excited to begin work on Waking for Winter too, and I’ll probably be able to announce a release date to you guys soon!

Line of the week:

His gaze sparked with amber depths, a vulnerability I hadn’t yet seen from this complex, layered man. I wasn’t the only one who unraveled. Every encounter, every touch and incursion delved deeper and deeper to the point I wondered how I ever could’ve believed he was simply the smart-talking criminal I’d first encountered. Despite all the confidence he displayed, what truly made Merlin stronger than most was the fact that he plunged through this as blind as the rest of us sometimes, never letting on to the others his fears and worries. Shouldering the burden alone.

What story I’m working on: Rising for Autumn (Slow because of edits on A Tale of Two Airships)

What I’m editing/marketing: Night Awakens, but mostly A Tale of Two Airships, because I got my first round of edits in!

Line of the week:

“One down,” Sam announced himself before she whirled around to check. “Looks like you found more beasties to play with?”

“What can I say?” she lifted the sachet and prepared to throw. “Monsters just love me.”

What story I’m working on: Rising for Autumn (Another slower week due to intense editing sessions, however, this story is picking up steam!)

What I’m editing/marketing: Night Awakens! Like a boss. I’ve been rolling through this one with a speed that surprised me. I honestly didn’t think I’d be done this til September, but I may step it up to end of July or August!

Line of the week:

How damaged and isolated had she become that a couple personal questions set her on edge? Her throat tightened. Maybe that’s the twisted path Bran had tumbled down last year. She’d sworn she wouldn’t end up like her little brother, but loneliness didn’t arrive with flashing bulbs and a warning label. It was as simple and complex as a faked smile, white lies about being ‘okay,’ and the nod and acceptance as her own peers didn’t delve deeper, shutting the coffin lid for her.
